Solved New Build Can't accept Windows 11

Yes, I tried that numerous times. But it will not take. It claims to "save and exit", but when I restart, it is disabled again.

Curious. It could be a corrupt bios.

have you made other changes and do they save correctly ?

I have not tried. I am reluctant to do so, since I really don't know what I'm doing.

May want to try clearing the CMOS and selecting default settings in the MB. Sometimes the CMOS settings get corrupted. The MB manual should tell you how to clear it by shorting two pins with a flat blade screwdriver. Turn the power supply off before doing that. You can also clear it by removing the CR2032 battery for about 30 seconds.

Go into your BIOS after you turn the machine on and check your TPM setting and make sure it's enabled. It may be enabled by default. Look at your MB manual and it'll tell you what settings are enabled by default.

Put the battery back in after a couple of minutes , then start up the machine.

It will probably tell you bios has been reset to defaults.

I had an intermittent problem with a mobo which turned out not to be the battery, it was fixed by bending up the connector thing at the bottom and cleaning the contact points with isopropyl.

A bit of progress! After removing then reinserting the battery, I was able to enable the Intel PTT and it stayed enabled after rebooting. Then, Win11 loaded a bit further then stopped and asked which partition to load onto. #1: 15.0 MB or #2 1863.0GB. When I chose #2 it said "we couldn't create a new partition or locate an existing one. For more information see the setup log files." I don't know how to get to any setup log files.
What should I try now?

Delete all the partitions on the drive until it shows 1 big unallocated space. Then select the unallocated space to install too. Note this will erase whatever is on the drive before Windows installs.

Windows will automatically create 3 partitions during installation in the free unallocated space.

If you use Windows Disk Management, you generally see 3 partitions. 1) EFI 2) Basic Data Partition 3) Recovery Partition. 1 and 3 are hidden partitions in file explorer. If you use Macrium you typically see 4 partitions in 22H2 Win11 new installs and 3 partitions in Win 10 upgraded to Win 11 based on my experience with my system. Not sure why Macrium shows a smaller unformatted partition right adjacent to the EFI (FAT32) in Win 11 22H2 new installs. Could be that it's reserved in Win 11 22H2 in case the EFI partition size needs to be increased in a later release of Win11. That would be my guess, but who knows.

I am glad that clearing the CMOS took care of the problem. As a word of advice, it wouldn't hurt to backup your CMOS settings if you have made tweaks and adjustments to your BIOS settings. This way you can restore your CMOS settings if it gets screwed up. You can always tell BIOS to load default settings and that's the best place to start if you suspect corruption. Good luck!

I am using GPT with UEFI for my Windows 11 installation and Macrium shows 4 partitions whereas Windows Disk Management shows 3 for the same disk. There's a small 16 MB primary partition right after the 100 MB EFI partition that is unformatted that only shows up in Macrium and not in Disk Management. I don't use MBR so I can't confirm what you are saying is accurate. Aside from the partition that has the OS and a label, the other 3 partitions are hidden and no label. The description for each partition is only visible in Disk Management and not in Macrium.
