I am in process of reinventing my pc onto the excellent laptop but ......

Opera Browser.

I am trying to remove that damn tab islands from the browser. Its very annoying. I dont need a mass of 'previous tabs' blitzing the top. Hilfe?

Check your tabs setting(s). Open browser > Menu (top LH corner) > Settings > search for tabs

However, I'm not really sure what you mean by "tab islands", a screenshot would help.

its called tab islands on the laptop for some reason. Its the tabs along the top of previous pages on the browser. I am still setting up the laptop so cant do screen dump until I have logged into here, on there.

New problem. Pictures and sub folders. In file explorer I open picture to view images and it shows images in pictures but when I click on sub folder it says empty. Its not. here is photo of browser, see all the pages lined up on top

regarding tabs, I found a button in settings that would not close until I selected 'on startup' and selected open a specific page and that released 'retain tabs from previous session'. It seems to have worked. thank you, thank you.

Id just go with opera Gx, I used opera for years above all else and then gx wiped the floor with it, Never seen this is issue before, i close opera and they all go away, You can ofc set it to whatever you want.
