I can't even open task manager. I also tried in safe mode.
For the moment I use startallback, which is also very nice.

Can you get to the command prompt and follow the instructions?I can't even open task manager. I also tried in safe mode.

Good point DavidWhen I tried to run anything from task manager I found I had to check the 'Create this task with administrator privileges'. Without that checked clicking OK did nothing.
Also, I was able run the setup directly with /uninstall so didn't need to rename it.
You can uninstall it by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc, choosing Run new task, and typing in@Juan,
If Explorerpatcher is preventing you from using your computer, these are the steps to take.
After your login, and between the flashes, press CTRL Alt DEL (at the same time)
Choose Task Manager
Select in the top left menu, Run new task
1- Type in cmd (press enter)
2- Type in cd c:\ (press enter)
3- Type in cd %ProgramFiles%\ExplorerPatcher (press enter)
4- Type in cp ep_setup.exe ep_uninstall.exe (press enter)
5- Type in ep_uninstall.exe (press enter)
This will give you back control of your system.
It brings up Task Manager. To the best of my recollection, when in the state that explorer isn't running, Ctrl + Shift + Esc won't bring up the run box. Not completely sure I tried that.
Where did I mention explorer or the run box?To the best of my recollection, when in the state that explorer isn't running, Ctrl + Shift + Esc won't bring up the run box. Not completely sure I tried that.
True. But you can try both methods to find out if it still responds to Ctrl + Shift + Esc or not. Then if it doesn't, try Ctrl + Alt + Del and go from there, but at least you'll know a little bit more about the actual symptom that way. Also there is a crucial difference of behavior between Ctrl Alt Del & Ctrl Shift Esc .
Ctrl Alt Del throws an interupt allowing you to have more resources at your disposal.
This is purely by design as it allows killing hung executables.
Ctrl Shift Esc merely gets you task manager and isn't a system level interrupt.
I don't usually handle things like this, but right now I don't know if the 'fix' really is the proper fix, so looking forward to hear some feedback.
So, is anyone willing to test this version of ExplorerPatcher on the 22621.963 OS build (KB5021255) which some people experienced crashes on? Hopefully the fixes inside make it functional again, without crashes. I can't really reproduce the issue on my test virtual machine (i.e. on my VM, it doesn't crash), so I rely heavily on feedback from people where it crashes to tell if it still happens.
Thanks.

PS. It's inside a zip archive, unzip it and you will find `ep_setup.exe` in there.
I haven't read all the past posts about Version 0.66.0, but I have all the above installed on my computer and I find no problems. I'll be glad to expand upon my response here if anyone has any direct questions.I don't usually handle things like this, but right now I don't know if the 'fix' really is the proper fix, so looking forward to hear some feedback.

0.66? Are you in the correct thread? Seems like you are talking about Power Toys or some other software?I haven't read all the past posts about Version 0.66.0, but I have all the above installed on my computer and I find no problems. Well I guess I'm not awake yet. Sorry about that. You're correct. So my version of ExplorerPatcher ver is 22621.608.51.6.0.66? Are you in the correct thread? Seems like you are talking about Power Toys or some other software?

@OAT thank you for clarifying for me. I went ahead and installed the file @valinet. At this time, I have not seen any issues after the install.@kgarrett67,
Valinet wants users to test EP version 22621.0819.52.2 on Windows 11.(22621.963).
He also needs users who are experiencing problems with EP to use this new version
to see if that eliminate the crashes.
Still no crashes, same as before. Still using the same setup except only the Intel Iris Xe Graphics driver (the WHQL, not the Arc) has since been updated to the latest version. The bottom edge of the maximized windows is now jumping in front of the taskbar (as opposed to is jumping behind it). See my screenshot below for a comparison to how it looked before. Only seems to happen if I turn the TV off, then let the laptop just sit there idle for quite some time (nothing on this laptop has been set to automatically go to sleep), and finally turn the TV back on after that. Restarting explorer still fixes the problem, until the next time when it happens again.I don't usually handle things like this, but right now I don't know if the 'fix' really is the proper fix, so looking forward to hear some feedback.
