New Version of ExplorerPatcher

Same here. I am experiencing the same after KB5021255 was installed. My start menu seems to crash consistently.
Event Viewer is reporting the crash also.
I have ExplorerPatcher installed too.
Symbols - that's all (as usual).
Please learn that you cannot expect Explorer Patcher to work without the corresponding symbol references.
And moreover it very seldom works with insider releases.

I have ExplorerPatcher installed too.
Win 11 installed a December update today and the Win 11 start menu doesn't come up when clicking the start button. If I switch to the 10 menu, it works. I just uninstalled the update and disabled updates for 5 weeks. I'll enable them again if a new version of EP comes out. I tried uninstalling EP and reinstalling, but that did not fix the problem.

@dilwert and @jab8356 I had the same problem but opened properties went to the Advanced section and toggled "Enable Symbols download" after which the symbols were downloaded for Build 22621.963 and the Win 11 Start menu started working again.

Edit: @Fredrick was faster posting the solution.

I noticed "Enable Symbols download" was already toggled to on.
Do you have to initialize the download?
How did you get it to download Symbols?
Is it automatically?
Restart File Explorer from the option in Explorer Patcher or Logout/Login.

And you haven't done something like blocked explorer.exe in your Windows Firewall, like I have read some people have done, for unknown beneficial reasons?

Check for updates do NOT trigger symbols download. That is only för program update. Symbol download is only triggered at startup of explorer.exe.

Great news ! Upgraded to the latest version of ExplorerPatcher.
Then I installed KB5021255 and rebooted. Once the pc was up and running, I tested the start menu.
It was broken as expected. I restarted ExplorerPatcher from the program itself and start menu began to work again.

Thanks for all your help on this. Greatly appreciated !

Did anyone notice that it is impossible to create and open a new User session while ExplorerPatcher is installed? It make the whole welcome screen unresponsive and looping on first UI.

I see posts about issues after the December update, but they're all different from what I'm experiencing. I have no explorer crashes, I just can't get the Windows 10 start menu to work. It just opens the Windows 11 start menu instead.

edit: Nevermind! Uninstalling and reinstalling fixed it.

Might have to give up on this. Users now finding that after they log on, it's "flashing white", basically explorer being loaded over and over until EP is uninstalled.

Sadly it's overall added more hassle and frustration for everyone than just accepting they need to learn a new Explorer UI.
