I got an idea what symbols are, but the question remains, why do they change with every version? Does Microsoft changes implementation of the same functions? I guess trying to use older version of symbols in new version of Windows doesn't work, hence the need to download again.

When I have Explorer Patcher installed, the calculator does not work, and I can't clear the cache in Chrome.
If I uninstall Explorer Patcher, the calculator function comes app comes back and works, and I can clear the cache in Chrome.
Reinstall Explorer Patcher, and the calculator app does not work, and I can't clear the cache in Chrome.
Anyone else experience the same.

I don't use the original huge and ugly Windows app calculator. I have installed Winaero Old Calculator to use the good-looking one from Windows 7/8. So I don't have this bug. Also I use Microsoft Edge and Firefox, so I cannot confirm your bug of not being able to clear the Chrome cache. Anyone else has the same issues?

Calculator works fine for me, with or without Explorer Patcher. If I use EP's Win10 Start menu, the calculator (and snipping tool) won't pin to Start, which seems to be a known quirk, but they do pin to Start and work fine with the Win11 Start menu. I've only been using EP for a few weeks, but smooth sailing so far.

I'm not using Chrome so I can't test clear cache, but clear cache is working for me in Edge and Firefox.

Probably GLO has a corrupted Google Chrome installation. I would download latest offline installer and run to upgrade and fix Chrome.

I am anything but a techie, just a doctor trying to utilize Explorer patcher to avoid the things I hate about Windows 11 with something better than Start 11. I have continued to find more things that needed work arounds when using the Explorer Patcher as a workaround for Windows 11, including now Windows scan application and viewing some photos in addition to the Windows calculator, and clearing the cache in Chrome, none of which work unless I would uninstall Explorer Patcher. I found the problem finally, and am writing about this in case somebody who is not a techie encounters the same. Under properties in Explorer Patcher, enable symbols download under updates, and then restart Explorer Patcher and give it a few minutes. This has solved all the problems I have listed and some others I have not, and hopefully I am done having to keep uninstalling and reinstalling Explorer Patcher, which has been a pain and very annoying.

Thanks for posting that you found a fix. "Enable symbols download" is buried on EP's "Advanced" page among a bunch of settings that can be turned off, but it needs to be on to avoid loss of functionality.

Tip: Someone should rename this thread from "New Version of ExplorerPatcher" to "ExplorerPatcher" so every time we see a new post, it's not an indication of a new version.

Threads "latest version of...", merely posted by @Brink have exactly the same issue, not all answers are about new versions!
Examples:
Latest Microsoft Edge released for Windows
Latest Office Updates for Windows
Latest NVIDIA GeForce Graphics Drivers for Windows 11
Latest Google Chrome released for Windows
Latest Version of Malwarebytes
Latest Firefox released for Windows

Would you want to have changed those titles as well?

Each time after Windows upgrades itself to a new build number, ExplorerPatcher automagically updates itself to a new version.

Hmm, last time I used this a *Newer build of WIN11 Hence just a feature update one broke ExplorerPatcher (Yes I tried to uninstall, refresh ExplorerPatcher) but this was back before the developer Fixed "Hopefully" but it's still unclear *If he had

I was just joking of course. It doesn't really update itself each time after that happens, as it only updates the symbols instead, at least if you didn't touch the advanced setting that causes it to update them.

Thanks for the alert. I've downloaded it and the good news is that the new version, coupled with Valinet's note about the Start Menu, seems to have fixed an issue where certain apps (like Calculator & Snipping Tool) wouldn't pin to Start. Now they do, and I can go back to the Win10 Start Menu. It's a small thing, but it makes me happy.

New updates for Windows 11 and despite new updates for Explorer Patcher, and I'm back to cannot utilize the task view feature and see my multiple desktops unless I uninstall Explorer Patcher, which I will do once again after writing this. This is so frustrating, as task view works fine without Explorer Patcher and I thought the problem was finally solved and I'm right back to square 1 with this.

The workaround is if I switch to Windows 11 style taskbar on Explorer Patcher, the task view function works and you can see all virtual desktops but you lose your toolbars, and if I go back to Windows 10 style taskbar task view function does not work. What a pain to need a workaround for a workaround.
