Solved on 21H2, missing Windows updates for 22H2 and 23H2

I bought a used 2022 Dell Alienware X17 R2 and it came with Windows 11 Home, 21H2.
I wiped everything in a computer reset, ran Windows update, and installed all the Dell drivers.
Now, I do not see an option in Windows Update (WU) to upgrade to 22H2, or 23H2.

How do I install 22H2 and after that, 22H3? Why aren't they listed in WU?

That must mean 23H2. Ain't no 22H3.
Have you tried downloading an ISO for 23H2 and doing an in-place upgrade?

Prerequisites

Before updating to Windows 11, version 23H2 using an enablement package, you must be running Windows 11, version 22H2. You must have the following prerequisite installed before applying this update:

• October 31, 2023—KB5031455 (OS Builds 22621.2506 and 22631.2506) Preview or a later cumulative update

you could download a fresh copy of Windows 11 23H2 and make a new bootable USB stick and do a completely fresh install of 23H2 without the need to follow the upgrade path from Windows 11 21H2. just as a safeguard it might be wise to get the Windows serial key that you already have.

as you have only just installed a fresh copy of Windows a new install of Windows would/should be a very easy step.

You can upgrade from 21H2 directly to 23H2 if you download the latest Windows 11 ISO from Microsoft, open it and run Setup:


You can download the ISO directly, scroll down is the third option.

If your computer is Windows 11 compliant, you have an UEFI installation and have TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot enabled, you simple mount the ISO (open with File Explorer) and run Setup. Follow onscreen instructions.

If your computer is NOT Windows 11 compliant or you have a Legacy BIOS installation (non-compliant), you must bypass compatibility check to upgrade. In this case disconnect from the internet once you have downloaded the ISO. Then mount it (open with File Explorer) and run Setup. Wait for progress to reach 100% and STOP! Before proceeding make sure you can see hidden files and extensions (see File Explorer settings) and delete the hidden file C:\$Windows.~BT\sources\appraiserres.dll. Now create an empty text file (right-click on the desktop and select New->Text file) and rename it to appraiserres.dll without the .txt extension at the end. This is a fake substitute for the file we deleted. Copy-paste that into the sources folder. Setup cannot check compatibility because the file containing the data is now empty and because we have no internet connection and will just let you proceed. Don't connect to the internet until upgrade is complete.

@Wisewiz - I am thrilled to report that your direction to the forum article was all I needed to move from what I figured out was a Windows Dev Channel Build of 21H2 into a "mainstream build" of 23H2. Thanks!
