I receive an Event Log error 10001 Event ID error when I boot into Windows. The description is

Unable to start a DCOM Server: {5250E46F-BB09-D602-5891-F476DC89B700} as Unavailable/Unavailable. The error:
"2147958016"
Happened while starting this command:
"C:\Windows\system32\DllHost.exe" /Processid:{5250E46F-BB09-D602-5891-F476DC89B700}

From what I can gather from the Registry is the Processid given is for the OneDrive context menu items.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\PackagedCom\Package\Microsoft.OneDriveSync_22045.227.4.0_neutral__8wekyb3d8bbwe\Server\0

Any ideas on this error? It doesn't seem to cause any problems. I never had the error until a couple of weeks back. Perhaps a OneDrive update or cumulative Windows update caused it. Anyone else seeing this error?

The application cannot be started because it is currently updating.

DCOM error are typically ignored.

As routine preventative care you can run administrative command prompt:

sfc /scannow
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
chkdsk /scan

or run this script:

Searching around I found the way to force OneDrive to do a reset. After doing this I haven't had the error. Keeping my fingers crossed.

%localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset
