Solved OneDrive Setup on Windows 10/11 is ridiculous!!!

The link is definitely there, and to be fair is more obvious in Windows 11. In Windows 10, it was even more obscure.

Now if you're making the argument that it depends on the account route (local vs MSA) taken as to whether that link shows or not, I also agree and why I said this...

My point is that MS' guerilla tactics has continued after the install process. I therefore do not believe in half-hearted measures like 'stop OneDrive sync'. I believe in uninstalling OneDrive (y)

Default installation of OneDrive and clean uninstall thereafter

I am sharing an easy and clean (and the most radical) way to NOT use OneDrive, although non-believers may not want to believe the procedure below, LOL. Anyway, back up your data beforehand if you already have data on your computer. The following was done with a Lenovo laptop with W11 Home. 1)...

Yeah, I tested that and it worked just fine.

Option 1:
I went into OneDrive, settings, Backup tab and removed the desktop, documents and pictures sync.
Option2:
I went into start, settings, apps, and uninstalled OneDrive.

Of course this was only in my test VM's as I actually like and use OneDrive on my machines.

I've got a bit over 200GB of my 1 Terabyte used, so I too am not concerned with having enough OneDrive space. I keep all my data and photos in OneDrive. My backup strategy utilizes three totally separate methods, all running at the same time.
1. Microsoft OneDrive
2. Microsoft File History
3. Macrium Reflect Complete Drive Images

@pparks1 I agree 100% with your findings that there are issues in the install process, I just pointed out that there are issues after that, too, and people then using words like 'hijack', 'shanghai', 'insane', etc. LOL

I like my OneDrive folder in the cloud, too, it's my 'USB stick in the cloud' although I don't use it much. It's the OneDrive app that does things that 99.999% of the masses never notices, and the 0.001% that do notice then post on this forum using the above words LOL
