OS
windwos 11 pro
Windows 11 pro on a Lenovo Yoga 7i 14.

Enabled the DO nothing action (see screenshot). Each time I open the lid, it still turns the computer on.

Went into Lenovo Vantage app and disabled "flip to boot" also.

I put laptop to sleep, close lid, then when I open it, it turns on and goes to logon screen.
Any ideas?

Similar threads have been posted that their "lid action" was not being respected. However, all the ones I've read want their system to do exactly what yours is doing...wake from sleep gracefully. Go figure.

If your concern is that you do not want to go through entering your password or pin when the lid is opened and computer wakes from sleep, there's a simple fix for that.
Go to settings/accounts/scroll down to signin options
Beside If you've been away, when should windows require you to sign again Change it to NEVER.

Otherwise, best suggestions I have to to make sure you have the latest UEFI bios update.
In power options set your power plan to balanced. Click 'change power plan" next to balanced. Then select "restore default settings for this plan"
Verify that you lid action remained as "do nothing"
See if anything changed.

I would like to caution you that keeping the OS active with the lid closed is not advisable. Too much heat is generated.

Oh yes, I did notice that too, I'm the opposite lol.

I am not bothered by the sign in prompt each time upon wake, I want that to be.

Yes, I dont ever keep the computer on when closing the lid. I always put it to sleep first, then close the lid.

I restored/reset the power plan settings (balanced) then disabled the lid open action again. Still no luck.

Perhaps its just not possible with sleep mode, although it makes me wonder what the point of that "Lid Open Action" = Do Nothing is for in the first place. I dont think it is Exclusively for turning the power on from an off state, because it specifically mentions "Turn Display on"... idk
