Solved Other User Account

My daughter has an Acer Aspire which has only ever had one user other than the built-in accounts but this morning, on the login page, another account named "Other User" showed up and she got curious and clicked on it (she didn't ask first, not my fault). Now her account doesn't show up in the bottom left corner at all and she doesn't have login info for Other User. Is this a default account and if so, what are the default credentials? If not, how do I access her account? I can't log in, can't bring up any other accounts in the left corner of the login screen, and am mostly clueless about Win 11.

The way I see it you have 3 options. Do a system reset and remove everything, clean install Windows 11, or enable the hidden admin account using your install media.


Boot from Windows 11 installation media and use option 5 of the following tutorial to enable the hidden administrator account. Once enabled you should be able to select it at boot and make a new user account.

If it were me I would do a reset and remove everything as there is a chance there is file corruption since you have no idea how this strange user account was created in the first place.

I wish I had more info to share as to why but I reset Windows using the built-in SW without reformatting and so far so good. No idea what I did or what the factory reset fixed but it's done, anyway. Thanks for the help.
