PC Disappeared From Microsoft Account.

I simply installed Office on a decade old Laptop, that has never seen an MS account...,
the device showed up online!
I think Edwin is on to something. If I remember correctly, I set up my Beelink using a local account when I got it. It's still a local account. It did not show up in Devices under my MS account until I installed MS Office on it. The 2 Dell's have always used a MS account and have always showed up in Devices even before I installed Office on them, even though one of those Dells is a incompatible device.

Seems to be the way it goes.
I remove the devices online, but, they're back if I reinstall Office, even when choosing 'Only Microsoft Apps'.

Hi Denis. Yes I checked System/Activation. It shows Activated With A Digital License Linked To Your Microsoft Account. The PC shows all the right things just the MS account where it doesn't show up. I think its a Microsoft issue. Checking online it seems to have been reported since the middle of the year. I can live with it as it was just License Activation I was concerned about if I need to do another clean install, but from what I've been told Activation is done independently from MS account. Thanks.
Another reset will not work. I have done 3 and still no devices show in MS Accounnt devices. I liked when I first setup the new HP Laptop and it was there aswell as able to use Find My Device linked from Windows Settings - Linked Devices. No more.

Mine doesn't 😕
Nope. Only showed on initial laptop setup, not after reset. I did reset through Windows Revovery: remove all files, clean drive and reinstall Windows from cloud. I had a Windows Backup choices but opted to setup as a new user. I am using the same MS login I have used for years, creating a new MS Account or logging in as local account dosen't add the laptop either.

When did you first register them, though.
It seems to be in the last several months that the system for new registrations has broken down.

Denis
In my case, I bought a laptop direct from HP. I set it up and saw device in my MS Account - Devices and Windows Linked Devices. I was able to Find My Device. Iniially it registered, I didn't do any thing. But after a reset no longer available. I cant register thr device maually and the link in the Microisoft Store Device Management shows nothing beside the laptop. Cant inlin k it as message says unable to unlink, try again later.

Strangely today, I checked and saw my device, but clicked another tab, went back and it was gone again. UGH.

Found a resolve; however, it means creating a NEW MS Account. I did this through my account as I use Family Hub.
My current MS Account login = Device Not Registered
Other exisiting MS Account logins (husband/son) = Device Not Registerd
New MS Account login = Device appears in MS Account - Devices! However, cant use Find My Device - location disabled and greyed out - I assume because the account is under my profile and my profile dosent show the device.

Update 1: I tried with both a new outlook email and gmail. I also added these accounts in Windows as well as User Accounts as Admin, then logged into Microsoft Account. I can see my device; however, find my device says unable to locate. I'm done testing, no huge issue. Will wait and see if my device shows up again under my actual Microsoft login.
Update 2: I removed the test accounts from Windows and Microsoft. Now I not only see my current device in Windows Settings - Linked Devices and 2 old laptops that were there aswell, but now an old broken laptop I have collecting dust in the closet, not logged into for serveral years is appearinng. Unable to remove just like the other 2 old laptops I no longer own. Still no devices in Microsoft Devices though using my current Microsoft login.

Maybe we need to try and remove the current latop in Windows Linked Devices and then log in to the laptop, then into Microsoft Account to re-add it?

A PC that has for years appeared on the Microsoft Account Devices page can disappear is some circumstances - an example is after a BIOS update. The issue doesn't seem to relate to being signed-in or affect activation - the PC works fine.

Sometimes the device count on the Microsoft Account page seems correct but clicking into Devices the PC is missing.

A new PC build seems to get added correctly. A Microsoft/Xbox store purchase like a controller is correctly added.

Generally the PC does appear in Settings - Accounts - Linked Devices - although sometimes the OS Build info appears out of date

Assuming the PC is working fine, activated, etc then it's not a major issue, and not worth making changes simply to try to get it to appear in Devices, but it's a problem many have noted since last year and still not fixed.

Frustrating. Today I created a new MS Account amd logged in as local account. Then i logged into with the new MS login. It displayed my laptop under that login and could use find my device I stayed l logged with the local account but logged into my primary MS account and device doesn't show. Ugh. It does under a different MS Account but not the one I use. Another strange find was a logged in as my windows and MS, went the devices, it shows no device but I pressed refresh several times and it appeared, but when I closed out and back in I was gone again.

No devices in 3 accounts for 5 computers, not one listed.
IT said, “Did you turn it off and back on again?” it didn’t work.

Crazy and now new issue! I have my husbands and my sons MS Account under my MS Account in Windows Accounts. Easier to monitor Outlook email as I add their email under my Outlook, plus use the Family Hub. My son bought his own laptop, logged in with his MS Account and his device does not appear in MS Account on his new laptop, I guess because he is listed in my laptop. I removed him form mine and no resolve.
