Yes, you are doing the right thing.
For linux, there are many to choose from because Linux is a headless OS, it is just a kernel.
For new users, many will recommend Ubuntu.

Basically, what will be happening is that Win11 will always run in the background.
You will launch VM player that will then virtually load the OS you want to run while using your devices.
The benefit of running virtually is that you do not have to hunt down drivers for Linux distros.
VMware does that for you.

What Virtual machines I plan to run...…both Linux and Windows isos'.
Do I need VMWare player for that? Can't W11 run the iso?

As I said, there are many options for Linux.
Those are called distros.
Ubuntu may be the easiest but I ended up with XeroLinux.
A lot of experimenting is sometimes needed and you will need to be assertive.
The advantage of a virtual running OS is that if something goes wrong, you restore it,
or you start over.

Where did I say that?
Without it you don't have what's called a host.
On top of the host (win11), the VM will run.
Are you sure you are up to this Alexey.
No offense but I am not going to be here guiding you thru everything.
You need to learn by making mistakes, it's also called experience.
