PCLinuxOS Debian Edition, Windows 10, Windows 11
I have recently downgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11. Yes, I said downgraded. I have spent almost an hour trying to figure out how to do a simple screen print that I can paste into Irfanview, which is the only graphics app tht I use.

What to I nee to do to get rid of whatever thing that pops up at the top of my screen when I press [Prt Scr] and simply copy the screen to the clip board so that I can paste it?

Thank You!

Welcome to Eleven Forum.

You want to disable this... that will make PrtSc work like it used to work.

Use Option Two...

And... here's ten points for filling out your computer specs. :-)

If I correctly understand that tutorial, it is telling me how to disable that pop-up, which is half of what I need.

What do I need to do after that to make the [Prt Scr] key copy a screen shot that I can paste into a graphics program and save it as a jpeg, the way the [Prt Scr] key worked in Windows 10 and previous versions?

At risk of spinning off topic slightly I would recommend giving FastStone Capture a try. You can get 30 trial version, which has no other limitations, and if you want to use it thereafter just buy a Lifetime licence, which is a good deal and inexpensive. It comes with a pretty decent Image Editor so you can annotate your screenshots easily.

I've used it for years and would be lost without its functionality.

I make every possible attempt to use only Open Source Software. I prefer Linux. I think I fully explained what my preferred graphics app is. I have no use for your spamware.

Irfanview is free, but is not open source software!
See Wikipedia License - Proprietary, free for non-commercial use

An open source screenshot app I am using myself is Greenshot. Very useful!

I have no use for your spamware.
I think this comment is rather ridiculous as there is a very long thread in this forum about that software.
If that thread would have been considered as spam, the admin of this forum certainly would have deleted it. he is very strict about posting threads or answers just because of advertisements!
