Yes, I was having trouble using the USB on my Dell desktop recognized by windows, I found that I had to recover the USB in order to be able to use the flash drive.

To create a Win11 boot USB
and does not require a 32GB USB
The other option you're looking at is image creation and restore. The restore process will wipe your drive and put it back the same way it was. It is not a repair or update process
It appears you are confusing 2 different processes and need to be very careful in what you choose

That's why I wanted to install the windows ISO while also wanting to keep my files and apps that are already installed.

If you are locked out of Windows:
I would suggest that if the content in your user folders are of the upmost importance, take the Dell into a computer store and ask them to copy the files to an external drive.
Unless you know how to remove the drive and do it yourself.
Even with the correct guidance in here, there is always a chance something could go wrong.
We stress backups in this forum, most of us do anyway. They are probably THE MOST IMPORTANT aspect of computing.

- You will only be able to perform a repair install of Windows 11 from within Windows 11. You will not be able to perform a repair install at boot or in Safe Mode.
- The Windows 11 installation media (ISO or USB) must be the same edition, same version, and same or higher build as the currently installed Windows 11.
- The Windows 11 installation media (ISO or USB) must be for the same language as your currently installed Windows 11.

Only reason I wanted that windows installation media iso is because I can't update windows without getting a pending update and retry.
