recycle bin

I lost a file and went into recycle bin to get it back. Under the date deleted file I should find it easy. While scolling throu the fiIes I noticed thet the date deleted colume did not move, So a 5min job took over 4 hours

Welcome to the forum. I guess I do not understand. If you click on the date deleted column HEADING, files are sorted by the latest deleted file. Click it again and it will sort by oldest deleted file first.

Just as within file explorer, your can use the search box to find the file by filename or part of the file name, by date, or even by file type. (Example: if you had a lot of deleted photos, you can search by .jpeg and a list of only deleted photos will show.

It would be remiss of me if I didn't ask...Why in the world do you have so many files in recycle bin that it took 4 hours to scroll through them? Do you not ever empty the recycle bin?

I often have thousands of files and they can appear after a couple of days. Depending on the programs one runs. PLEX media for instance running with FreeFileSync.

The Recycle bin is a freakin' Garbage Can. Empty it, before it starts to stink!

Why are there so many files in there ??? The Recycle Bin should NOT be used as an alternate and/or temporary storage location.

Then you should be looking at why, this is not normal.

It is, Plex constantly creates cache files, etc. I backup my plex media server with FreeFileSync, every time a new file is created or removed, as you would already probably know, FreeFileSync adjusts accordingly on the destination drive and deletes those removed by Plex.
It’s common for Plex to have up to 600,000 files, often more. It’s overkill but that is how it works. I could always remove the offending folder from the backups but have never gotten around to it.

As per storage, it all depends on how much space one allocates to their recycle bin.
