Doesn't resolve the issue my friend.
Agreed. It's an issue that users are unable to fix themselves, no matter what method we try.

My system is working flawlessly, so I'm just going to ignore it from now on. Just like my wife and lets be honest, most users do who have never entered command prompt (or even know what it is) after a Windows Update.

What issue are you experiencing that you need to run dism in the first place?
Mouse settings changed which prompted my initial checking for any other issues. So, I went with both the SFC and DISM tools to see if that would set things right. Now, here I am. Any suggestions.

And I'll add that for many with this now widespread issue on multiple Windows builds the ISO repairs will no longer fix this bug.
So, I have found out. I try to keep my computer in the best condition I can and when things like this happen I become concerned about what other problems might be hidden until I become unpleasantly surprised sometime in the future with another "Oh great, now what caused this to happen?"

I have not heard of any issues created as a result of /RestoreHealth failing.

If your system is running well, I would not be concerned.

However, if you do experience additional issues, your next step should be to do an in-place upgrade (repair install), which re-installs Windows without losing your apps, settings, and personal data.
I have already done an in-place repair and the issue persists. The ChatGPT efforts have been pretty extensive...but with no success.

Thank you for your post. Actually, the ChatGPT had suggested all of what you provided. I truly appreciate you taking the time to provide the detailed steps, which I would never have done without having the AI help. At this point, I think I will go with the hope that MS will come up with a solution...especially, since it appears to be crated by them.

Thank you. This is something that I haven't tried. I will get back to you with the outcome as soon as I have chance to try it.

I tried the "StartComponentCleanup" with the same error message. I have not tried changing anything regarding the network. My experience with making changes in the network have always resulted in creating more problems than solving them. So, at this point, I will leave that alone. Thanks again for your help.

I couldn't get anything to fix it including a full UUP dump ISO install. I decided to try the Recovery Repair install today more to see which build it tried to download and install due to the wrong build downloading previously. Since it looked like the right repair download this time I let it install and reboot. I ran the DISM/Restorehealth and was shocked when it completed without error this time. Sadly Scanhealth just said the component store is repairable again so I guess it's still got bugs. 🤷🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️
That's the same thing I've seen on one of my tests, but running RestoreHealth again then showed up the error after I saw ScanHealth again said the component store was "repairable". I've finally given up on tilting at this windmill.

This is known bug. If you run DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth and it reports "No component store corruption detected." then don't worry. Using an ISO as source will give the same error.
Maybe, but what if it doesn't run clean?

Maybe, but what if it doesn't run clean?

Checkhealth just looks for previously flagged issues in the registry but does not check any files.

Scanhealth actually checks the component store files and then is supposed to clear the checkhealth flags in the registry.

So if you want to actually check the component store files you run scanhealth.

DUH! I know that, I'm just responding to someone else's comment. You should direct your comment to the poster that suggested that as a solution.

If you have read the previous posts in this thread, you would know that I've run ScanHealth many times during the analysis of this issue. ScanHealth always returns "The component store is repairable", so obviously CheckHealth is going to indicate the component store is not OK.

Yeah, nobody reads these threads from the beginning. I feel your pain.
I've just been lectured by freebooter how to use Device Manager.
