Samsung 980 Pro 2TB health issue

I am certain that the problem lies with the SSD Coin Miner!

Just to clarify some things....from your OP you said the 980 Pro was having Health issues. Generally that means the the Drive Health is rapidly declining from 100% to a lower percentage more quickly than normal. However in later posts it seems it's not a drive health issue but that something is writing to the drive and eating up the space on the drive. 2 separate issues.
My posts were about possible drive health issues. Apparently the issues with your drive are not related.

I'm a computer enthusiast so have quite a few systems that I run. More like an advanced hobby.
I don't have an issue with the volume of the drive. (I always keep Steam game installers, and I only have 1 drive.)
I'm not sure whether the issue is due to malware or if it's a Samsung-related problem.
But when I check the drive, I don't see any abnormal writes on the disk.
After a day of powering the system on and off, Samsung's lifespan is reduced by 100 GB. (Light tasks)

Losing drive space is not a lifespan issue. The drives "Lifespan" has to do with Write performance over time. The drives memory will only support so many Write cycles which is where the drives lifespan is derived from. You seem to be having an issue with something adding/writing files to the drive taking up disk space. Not excusing that as an issue for you however.
One thing you might be able to do is bring up Resource Monitor and select Disk. From there you might be able to discover the program that is writing to the drive more than normal operations.

Curious about your issue with the drive itself. Samsung used to have serious issues with the drives dying too early which was fixed via firmware updates. The 990's were the worst but the 980 2 TB models also were experiencing the same/similar issues.
If the drive health has decreased the firmware fix will not correct the issue and the drive will need to be replaced under warranty.
Are the 980 2TB Pro's the 2.5" ones or the NVMe? I have the former and I remember it was having bad clusters after a few years.

Last screenshot of CrystalDiskinfo from 30.09.2024 shows 42051 GB written. Post another screenshot from 3.10.2024 - if what you say is correct - that should show 42251 GB or 42351 GB - presuming it writes 100 GB daily (if not more 🤔).

I installed Windows 10 on this system 3 years ago and didn't have any problems. About 1 year ago, I upgraded to Windows 11 and everything was fine until 6 months ago. I'm not sure if the SSD health issue is due to malware or a hardware problem.

You didn't post another screenshot. Where exactly do you see that?! 🤔

You should have have less than 1 TB by now, but even more than that - important system files would get corrupted.

Open Task Manager - Ctrl + Alt + Del - leave it open, click on Disk and check which App is writing that much - it's impossible to miss.

As a rule of thumb would uninstall Armory Crate and even keep Samsung Magician disabled (use it only manually - when needed). But i still don't get - where you see problems or high Disk Usage:

4324.jpg

Also as a rule of thumb (since it's a fast SSD & 32 GB Ram), if you haven't done this already: Win Key + R copy/type services.msc

And Disable Sysmain:

rggd.jpg

Maybe it's cause of the Samsung hype - which translated in a very very high order/demand (even out of stock in some part for awhile - which is a bit surprising for storage units - which already have a high production rate) - but Samsung SSDs can be a bit of a lottery: either holding till their last breath/bit or failing randomly - while SSD health measurement tools still display a healthy status. I'm aware of that happening with SSDs used extensively - like 60% Health Status and then going down the hill in a short time. But yours seems fine so far - or at least you haven't shown the slightest evidence of it failing. 🧐
