I too have found it to be very stable. I do get annoyed frequently by little things, but then I have to check myself, realizing that every OS out there has some issues. Modern OSes are just so complex because they try to do so many different things. Anytime you have literally millions of lines of code that has to work with tens of thousands (if not more) different combinations of hardware and software there is bound to be something, but really, it is amazing how stable it is.
I have not had any problem with any of the standard services. I have one machine in particular that I don't reboot except once a month for updates nad it never needs any sort of maintenance (not even a reboot) during those time periods.
So, while I get highly frustrated at times, to the point where I consider switching to another OS, I have to step back sometimes and realize that what I am so bothered about is not a big deal in the scheme of things. Also, the more I look at alterrnatives to Windows, the more I start thinking that I like Windows better then the alternatives.
I guess that, at least for now, I'm not going anywhere and Windows is my affliction of choice.
