I just Downloaded ShareX 16.1 and am trying to learn how to use it. I see no help recourses within the Program. I see no help info searching on google.
Does anyone know how to get a help guide for this program?
In figured out how to take a screen shot. When I hit save it saves it to a folder I am not happy with. Does anyone know how I can change the folder where it is being saved?
When I take a screen shot how can I get a copy of the screen shot I just took to show on my desktop?
I have a lot of questions about using this program. Can someone please direct me to help or support for this program. Really Appreciate It!

Hi, welcome to the forum 🙏

To view screenshots:
Double click the Tray Icon to view the screenshots taken.
You can Right click on an image to edit image/add annotations like I am in my screenshots.

Change save destination:
Select "Application Settings" go to the 2nd screenshot below.

Win-1501.png

Click on "Application Settings" the "ShareX Application Settings" window will open.
Click on "Paths"
Select "Use custom screenshots folder"
Click Browse to change to new default destination folder.
You can also set the sub folder pattern. Mine is below in the 3rd screenshot.

Win-1502.png

This Sub Folder save structure is using %y-%mo-%d to organise the sub folder pattern/naming.
I find this date pattern will ALWAYS sort folders chronologically.

Win-1503.png

To change it or make your own pattern, just use the formats used for patterns which you can learn by checking the presets. Or select a preset.

Unfortunately, online resources for ShareX usage guides are few and far between. The aforementioned YouTube links is probably the best place to start.
I have a lot of questions about using this program.
Fire away, we would be more than happy to help, to the best of our ability.

We can't expect too much from a free software in terms of support. But ShareX is a very useful tool. It just needs a bit of a learning curve. Good to know you found your away around it.
