Windows 11 Version 25H2
Hi guys. I have been reading that the latest February Update for Windows 11 is causing problems, particularity with File Explorer, that folders are not opening? Also read that it is causing complete BSODs? Has this been confirmed and what is the KB number for said update? My main question is, because of these issues, should I pause Windows Updates for a bit and wait for fixes?

Here is a link to an Article about said issues: Windows 11's February update breaks File Explorer and more

Thoughts appreciated :)

Update: It seems that I already have the update installed, but am not experiencing the main File Explorer issue as of yet. Should I keep update and proceed as normal, or delete it?

Disable updates permanently (security updates will arrive on your computer anyway).
You can download updates once a year (e.g. after 'Thanksgiving Day', etc.).

I completely disagree with the advice you were given about disabling updates. I would NEVER do that.
If you have applied the update you referred to and are having no problems, then keep it and keep on trucking.

Keeping current system images are the best insurance one can have when dealing with ANY problems in Windows. If you do not have a back-up plan, I suggest you get one.

Just dont use cumulative previews, and keep an eye on the Windows News section for updates to 24H2. If there is a problem, members will post in this section under the update news.

In Windows 11 News, new updates by Brink are usually a sticky in the Windows News section at the top.

An example:

This is how I control my updates:

I use WAU Manager to take over from Windows Update, it’s why I am on a lower build than some others. I have frozen updates past the initial 24H2 download. It’s lightweight unobtrusive and simple to use.

After checking the small box at the top to allow WAU Manager to take over, checking the “Normal” option below it, you can click “Update Windows Now” and it will show you the available updates before proceeding. You can chose not to proceed or select updates to install.
It can also uninstall updates.
If you run it first and let it take control, you are in control.
