As the title says, I am having some issues with Acrobat. Since I upgraded to 24H2 yesterday, Acrobat is very slow to open when double clicking a file in Explorer. That is if it opens at all. Often, I have to right click the file in Explorer and say "Open with Acrobat" and then wait 30 seconds while the computer figures out it is a computer and should do what I asked.

It was working perfectly before the upgrade and I haven't noticed any other problems with other software, just Acrobat.

I am wondering if I have to change any settings in Acrobat? And if so, which ones?

This is a very common issue that has been around long before 24H2 was born.

As the title says, I am having some issues with Acrobat.
What version of 24H2 do you have / had installed?

I had this issue until I updated to Windows 11 Pro v 24H2 Build(26100.2454), the problem (for me) no longer occurs.
Whether its the OS upgrade or something Adobe have fixed I can't really say.

I found the answer here:

It turns out that shutting off protected mode seems to do the trick. I scan all of my PDFs with a virus checker before I open them, so I think it should be OK until someone fixes this properly.

Thanks for the answers everyone. :-)

I don't have any Adobe software in my computer currently. The issue I had a couple of years ago with Acrobat was it caused the boot up to take a long time. Turned out to be the settings for an Adobe service. I do wonder how much bloat/flab is in their software.
