Site/s to download latest drivers

Hey all.
Anyone to know a site to download latest drivers ?
I dont need to recognize my devices , just to search with specific drivers versions.

The newest drivers can be found at the device manufacturer support site.

For a laptop, all drivers should be obtained ONLY from the website of the laptop manufacturer.

For a desktop, you can go to the individual OEM websites.

If there is an obscure unknown brand without proper support, you can use a utility such as Speccy or Aida64 to determine the devices. Then you can visit a site like www.drivers.com or www.driverscape.com Alternatively you can use a driver tool such as Snappy Driver Installer that detects the hardware, finds the drivers in its database and installs them. I use that as a last resort. Never use it on tablets or you might lose the touch and rotate functions. To get them back, if you are lucky, you must install the chipset (platform) drivers from manufacturer support site.

That's why I download at least the graphics drivers directly from Intel/nVidia/AMD. Contrary to popular belief, the customized hardware that needs manufacturer drivers is the exception. In most cases the official driver from Intel/nVidia/AMD can be installed and work properly on both laptops and desktops. Since they are newer than those provided by the manufacturer, I prefer them. Also is no secret that the drivers provided by the manufacturer are simply older versions of the official drivers. Like I said customized drivers are the exception and you will be notified while attempting to install the official driver. The only advantage of the manufacturer support site is that all the drivers are gathered in one place and is easier to obtain them.

True.
I use a free version of a driver updater program.
It search and finds the fresh drivers , but for the download it requires payment.
So i downloaded by searching them at the internet.
Right now i m searching for "Realtek audio effects component" , version 13.2380.1721.522 or later.

Personally, I only go to the manufacturers website and download drivers from there. I don't use any third party programs or other methods to update drivers.

Since from looking at your Computer info, I would only trust HP and get my drivers from there, and nowhere else. The only reason I say this is that they would know the best drivers for your specific hardware configuration (supposedly). I have a laptop or two that I help in keeping up-to-date (two HPs and an Asus) and there have been several times where I would download the most current for that hardware from the website of the component manufacturer and would get errors.

If I don't know the website address, I do my best Google-fu and find the most updated drivers and install those.

I cant find something at these sites. Generallly a good source for drivers is the Microsoft update catalog.
MS puts its newest drivers per device there , but it not give them via Windows Update.

And the winner is .................. Microsoft :

No need to visit Microsoft Update Catalog. Just search for updates in Windows Update and go at the optional updates to install any drivers found. However, as I have said many times in other threads, these might not be the latest official drivers, but an earlier version and frequently they are the bare minimum to make the device work. This means you may not get access to all device features (for example a generic printer driver that lets you only choose paper size and color or B/W, normal or draft quality vs an official OEM printer driver with a lot of quality settings and special papers to choose). In the case of graphics drivers Windows Update might not provide the respective Control Center to tweak performance and access extra functionality. I always prefer the full package, so I download directly from the manufacturer (such as directly from nVidia for my Geforce GTX 1050 Ti) and I always do a CUSTOM installation to make sure all components are installed, I don't even trust the "full" installation when available, I want to see what it is installed and make sure nothing is missing. I use Windows Update for non-important devices, like a webcam. Even then the OEM driver (such as in Microsoft and Logitech models) might improve image quality or give you more control how the image looks than the generic USB video driver.

Best method for best performance: Chip manufacturer drivers (Intel, nVidia, AMD, Realtek, you-name-it). Yes, I know it is a lot of work to hunt down individual drivers, but you get the latest and more featured.

Plan B: Download all available drivers from laptop/computer manufacturer, BUT prefer the latest graphics drivers from Intel/nVidia/AMD to get the latest and all features. Only in the rare case that the official graphics driver won't install or won't work properly, install that on computer manufacturer support site.

I don't have time or I don't care: Let Windows Update find most drivers, download the rest from computer manufacturer support site. That will make all devices work and you won't see and warnings in Device Manager, but almost certainly you will have earlier drivers or missing features. I personally hate that, and I only do it when I don't care or I absolutely have no more time to do it right.

I am lazy: Use a driver tool to update the drivers (if Windows Update fails to install them all). In that case, while in Device Manager everything is OK (no warnings), you may see updates for some motherboard devices (aka chipset component drivers). There is a great chance to risk a BSOD if you blindly update all drivers because of not 100% compatible versions. I even avoid installing such drivers using Windows Update, thank God they are optional and not forced. IF you are willing to take the risk and use a driver tool, at least install only the missing drivers (green text in Snappy driver installer) and avoid updating the perfectly working drivers (blue text in Snappy), especially those for motherboard components. NEVER use a driver tool for tablets! It will replace the manufacturer customized chipset drivers and you will lose the touch feature or rotation and other functionality. There is no way to get them back, unless you reinstall the tablet manufacturer chipset driver. Even then there is a chance it won't work and you have to reinstall Windows! I learned that the hard way... You have been warned!

The problem with letting Windows Update install drivers is that those WHQL drivers are often bastardized. MS takes the latest driver from the OEM and modifies it as necessary to be compatible with as many hw/sw combinations as possible under the related OS.

And although graphics drivers rarely cause issues for a laptop if downloaded from the OEM website as opposed to the laptop manufacturer website, "rarely" is too often for me. IMO it is ALWAYS best to download ALL laptop drivers from the website of the laptop manufacturer.

As for 3rd party driver tools, I'm opposed to all of them. I recognize that this forum is manned by many VERY knowledgeable folks and you all (for the most part ) are fully conversant in the diligent use of such tools. But we all know that Windows support forums have always been crammed full of problems caused by users who update drivers arbitrarily - for no reason other than that one is available. And the use of 3rd party utilities to find and download such drivers compounds the issue significantly. We also understand that as a rule, drivers should only be updated if and when there is a specific need or reason to do so (major new release, compatibility fixes that relate to the user's specific installation, new feature that is important to the user, etc). Unfortunately, the driver download utilitiy (and the average user) does NOT understand that.

Just my unsolicited 2 cents
