Solved slow computer boot up

if anyonr could answer this, would a ram error even be the cause? i get these crashes where my audio loops and my screen freezes only during val, and that too it is nevet constant. somedays ill go by playing without anything, somedayd ill crash multiple times. its never even a bsod, so i dont even know whats wrong. is this more likely a software error?

Most likely a game incompatibility. A new graphics driver might fix that. Also check if the game manufacturer has released any patches at their site. Install these and you should be OK. If no patches or newer driver yet, wait a few days. If you Google the game you probably are not alone, others should have the same issues.

i havent seen many other reports, and these crashes have been going on for months. i never thiught to report them before now because icl i was just scared to do anything and always assumed it was my temperatures, but ive had mulyiple graphic driver updates and it still persists. ill just try to maybe live with this unyil i can find an apparent cause, thanks everyone

I know you don't want to do it because the game is too many GB to reinstall, but have to tried to uninstall the game, remove it completely, restart your PC and reinstall it? This should fix any issues caused by a corrupt installation of the game. I have seen that happening, so I suggest it to rule out a bad installation. If the issues persist after reinstallation, then it is not because of the game. Have you read any forums about this game? If others have the same issue they might have already posted how to fix it. Visit manufacturer's site and see if you have the latest version of the game or if they are any updates/patches released. If they are, install them to fix any bugs.

Just joking of course, however older games are not that bad. To play the original coin operated arcade games download MAME (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator) for Windows:

A nice shoot-em-up (precursor to first person shooter) was Operation Wolf:

Or much better, Commando:

Just a thought... I guess you have the games on a separate mechanical disk, not on the SDD. This disk may needs defragmentation. Have you tried that? Take your time to defrag the disk and see if you still have issues with the game. A fragmented disk would explain the lagging in game.

i got it around nov 2023, first laptop ever.
hey, do you think audio drivers could be the cause of this? ive seen reports about nahimic causing some crashes, and since my audio always ends up looping and such during these crashes, could this be a reason? maybe that, or a macro that i use? (when i hold down mb5, it works as an autoclicker)? if so, would these be valid cases just for val? mainly want to focus on the nahimic drivers because i got rid of them but my audio works fine. thanks!

You run DDU in Safe Mode. After it removes the graphics drivers (don't uninstall other drivers), restart and install the graphics drivers again. I don't think the audio driver has anything to do with the lag, but it doesn't harm to reinstall it. Open a File Explorer window. Right-click on This PC icon and select Manage to open Computer Management. Now click on Disk Manager to see your disks. Post a screenshot.

See the bright side, you practice installing Windows. Once you are more experienced you will do it pretty fast and you could do it to your friends' computers for a little pocket money, no bad. If you like it too much you could even be professional Technician. Just install Windows on a virtual machine for practice without affecting your real PC. Back in the day I hadn't heard of virtual machines, I just damaged our family computer to try new stuff and then fixed it. My father was a little angry at first, but then he told all his friends to ask me for computer repairs.

didnt take much to "practice" tbf, i just used the troubleshooting options!

as said before, i reinstalled windows and now i got back everything, my computer seems to work. still have yet to test if val works now.

not sure if this is concerning, but there are also a few small red and green pixels in the bottom left corner of my screen during boot up, unsure about that. overall, i hope this clean install fixes the issue tbh. ive been crying over it for a week now, idek why lol.

If these color pixels persist they are dead pixels (damaged and not work properly). Color means the damage is not big and there is a very little chance to fix some time, permanently white means they are dead and unfixable. Two or three SCATTERED dead pixels (not all at the same point of the screen) might be eligible for a monitor replacement under Warranty. You have to ask the shop you got the computer from. If they don't bother you all the time (are constantly visible while using the computer), is not big deal, but if they are covered by Warranty why not fix it! Just call them, you might need to send a photo of the issue or get the computer to them to judge if it is covered under Warranty.

I remember fixing a dead pixel (can't remember the color though, it was 10+ years ago) by gently pushing with the eraser some pencils have at the end :D

Valorant anti-cheat has kernel level access if that would make a difference. Maybe check various logs and contact them. There may be people that can decipher the logs on their forums also. Just make sure to not share personal information.
