No, she doesn't do text . Her flip phone is just that, A flip phone.

Edit: She also doesn't have an email address. I know a lot of others just like her. Yes, she does have a laptop but except for a few MS games she doesn't really need internet access.

Anyway, someone always has the extreme example. For everyone else who has some type of phone they can at least get texts.

The point is that not everyone has an alternative source to get the codes from MS. In my wife case any info sent to her goes to my email or cell phone. And surprise, surprise, I refuse to set up my smartphone to receive any emails. That's why I have a computer.

Or the point could also be those with phones have the opportunity to receive texts, not solely rely on email. No one on the planet can account for every what if in the universe. All they can rely on is normality - Here the vast majority of people with phones can receive texts ;-)
