Solved Steps To Repair Install W11.

Apologies for this basic question but I'm hoping someone can double check the steps to do a repair install of W11 - my advancing years are catching up with me. The Tutorials I think cover the W11 ISO but i want to use the Media Creation Tool to "keep recommended options for this PC" and don't want to do a clean install by mistake.
1. MS website download W11.
2. Select Media Creation Tool.
3. Save and D/click to run.
4. Select "Create Installation Media"
5. Select "Use Rec Options For This PC".
6. Choose Media - ISO File - Save.
7. Downloads W11.
8. Creating W11 Media.
9. Burn ISO To DVD.
I'm not sure what happens after this to install W11 and would be grateful if someone can point me in the right direction. I know I can repair W11 using Windows Update but would like to use the MCT as an alternative. Thanks for your help.

That should work fine for just using an ISO with option two below.

If you like, using option one in the tutorial below would be the easiest way to perform a repair install.

If you wish to do it other than using Windows Update, all that you need to do is download the ISO.

Double click on the ISO to mount it as a virtual DVD. Launch setup.

(Very easy.)

You don't need to create a bootable medium. You can only launch a repair install from within Windows. If you boot from a DVD or USB drive, a new install is the only option.

Thanks very much for the advice, much appreciated. It was the "Burn ISO To DVD part that confused me. So if I double click the ISO in "This PC"/Explorer that will start the install process? Is the Fix Windows Using Windows Update method as effective as using the ISO to repair windows although it might take longer? A couple of years ago I did a clean install by mistake an don't want to do that again. I'm grateful for your help and advice. Thanks.

Double click the ISO. That mounts it as a virtual DVD.

Open that, click Setup.

Choose to keep files and programs.
