Systray shortcut

I want to create a shortcut for the systray so I can open it by clicking on a icon in a better location. What is the path for it. Thanks

Not sure about a shortcut, unless you can make a desktop shortcut from keyboard shortcuts.

Accessing the Systray using a keyboard is:
Win + B, release the keys and press Enter.

Create a desktop type shortcut using the above keys doing something like this perhaps?

Actually, I am not sure that sendkeys supports the windows (WIN) key, but Ctrl + Esc opens the start menu. I am not sure if Ctrl + Esc would represent the win key in sendkeys. I am way out of my deapth...

Autohotkey. Then compile the script to an exe

Having said all the above, it would seem just as quick to me, to move your mouse to the right and click on the systray arrow, or just use the keyboard shortcut Win + B, release the keys and press Enter. Eventually, it's going to become a motor skill.

Autohotkey - install it as it’s good to have anyways.

Open notepad. Copy and paste this:

delay = 75
;
SendInput, {LWin Down}b{LWin Up}
sleep %delay%
SendInput, {SPACE}

File > Save As > whatever_name_you_want.ahk

Right-click on .ahk file > Compile Script > that will output your exe

I agree on Autohotkey. There's enough expert users out there, that you can always get a working answer.

Hey @antspants @dacrone @garlin I am impressed every time I "lurk" on one of y'all threads talking about all this stuff that's over my head. I can't say I remember it all but at least I know it can be done and who to call if I ever need something off the wall. Congrats, guys for being so in the know about this stuff. Much respect.

Hi everyone I have looked into the Autohotkey and have tried this script

Code:

Send "#b"
Sleep 50
Send "{Enter}"

but when I double click on the file it just opens in notepad++ , same if I click on it in start menu.
Any ideas
I believe the code to correct as someone has used it(from what I read). I should say this ison a win 11 laptop.

I did not realise that the above post got submitted as it was one I was doing when I re read all the post and saw the info how to do it. It worked thanks. The reason I wanted to do this is because I am using a old program called Desktop X which made access to the systray not possible AutoHotkey is a program that I see could be useful.
