Tabbed Notepad - Recover unsaved text

I noticed with the tabbed Notepad, when Windows Update reboots the machine on it's own that when logging back into Windows, notepad would automatically open with the same contents before the reboot. Does anyone know where it is actually restoring the contents from?

The Clipboard? Just a guess.

It's got to be a temp file that is somewhere in your user profile. That's how notepad++ is doing it.

Yep, Notepad++ does it that way as it's at C:\Users\"UserName"\AppData\Roaming\Notepad++\backup

Check in ProgramData, I bet it is either there or in your Users folder somewhere.

Bug: Turn 'Word Wrap' off default in last version of Notepad.

Word Wrap is always ticked on by default, even if you unticked.

I tried this 6 Ways to Recover Unsaved/Deleted Notepad Files in Windows 10/11 and wasn't able to find it. It was scheduled to reboot for Windows Insiders Beta Build 22624.1391, I was not at the computer but the end result was a GSOD so forced shutdown by holding power button on notebook and it did update to 22624.1391 but unlike the previous updates, it did not resume whatever was opened after the update.
