Now THAT I've thought already would be gone by now. You may be right, Windows Explorer in it's entirety may be on the chopping block for something entirely different. Oh no. Windows without explorer, say it ain't so!!!

I do not believe MS could ditch possibly Win32 as there are just too much legacy apps.

Look at the S Mode - MS made a big deal about it but it is getting quietly forgotten, as MS have obviously realised the MS Store will never amount to anything remotely approaching the current Win32 level of apps.

I suppose it is possible you would have to run Win32 apps in some form of emulation/container in the future, but it would be an unmitigated disaster to ditch Win32. Mind you, I suppose nobody will notice as they will be playing with their latest emojis.

Clover is the best thing out there. It's the only good thing the Chinese have ever made. As for those that say their antivirus flags clover, just delete all the executables (except for the main program launch exe) in it's program files folder, and your antivirus won't bother you anymore. The program still runs perfectly with these .exe files removed.

It doesn't play nicely with the Windows 11 Command Bar..., doesn't seem to capture the W11 shell unless you maximize and restore down again...

It will work okay if you use Clover's bookmarks within itself and leave the W11 tabs alone...

... it runs perfectly fine if you are running an alternative shell such as the W7 Command Bar via StartAllBack, for example.

All in all, Clover does what it says on the box, tabs and bookmarks, nothing else.

I've been using Clover for 3 years now, but something's gone wrong when I updated to Win11. How can I get rid of Win11 native explorer tabs?

I see this is an old thread. And indeed, Windows 11 Insider Preview versions have had Explorer tabs for some time now. Here's a screencap from the Canary Channel release (Build 25346). I think it's also on Dev Channel (goes off to check Beta Channel PC -- yep it's also in Build 22624). I think that means it will show up when the next "Big Moment" comes for Windows 11, perhaps later this year.

Thanks for posting this! Curious if its possible to code a version that uses the latest chrome shell and also is 64bit so it runs smoother.
