It's hard to tell from the screenshot, but it appears everything on the screen is blown up as though your graphics driver is not installed. The first thing you need to do is go to control panel-device manager. Expand display adapters. Right click on your display adapter-select properties. Does it show a driver or is it using the default Microsoft driver? Make sure it is using a driver from your computer manufacturer, or, if you are using a graphics card the driver from its manufacturer.

Once the proper driver is installed go to settings-display-scale and layout- set your display resolution to 'recommended'

Your desktop should then appear normal, but you can tweak the size of your taskbar using this tutorial. Change Size of Taskbar Icons in Windows 11 Tutorial

I have the latest drivers for my graphics card (AMD Radeon ™ Vega 8).
I don't know if it matters, but I have a laptop with an AMD Ryzen 5 2500U processor, which is not officially supported by Windows 11.

I'm sorry Rafal. If your graphics driver is installed, I have no idea. You aren't using any third party apps or made any registry tweaks that affect the GUI, are you?

I have the latest drivers for my graphics card (AMD Radeon ™ Vega 8).
It may still be worth changing the display resolution, then changing it back again. That may reset the positioning back to normal.

fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.

Actually, it doesn't look like it's off...it looks like you are missing the "notifications" icon (looks like the little comment icon) that should be in the blank space.
