I used windows update and windows download assistant both did the same thing ? earlier versions worked fine ?

Odd, I used Windows Update on two computers and the Control center works from the notification area and with Win-A shortcut.

Same here. I did an in-place upgrade via clicking on setup.exe in a downloaded .ISO and Control Center is accessible both ways.

Downloaded windows 11 today, same thing with taskbar .

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by Notifications so I could be wrong. On my computers if I don't have any notifications the only thing that shows is the calendar.

Calender doesnt show up either . Notifications is telling me I have a number of notifications.
