I managed to fix the stuttering. I removed the module and disabled it in the BIOS and its smooth again. Obviously I wont be able to do that for Windows 11 so I hope they fix this soon.

I told you before... your board already has firmware TPM. Enable that and be done. You don't need the module, and firmware TPM doesn't produce the performance hit the module does. I mentioned this before.

I'm running Windows 11 RTM on system one in specs with firmware TPM and have no issues or performance hits

3900x here too and no,it won't cause stuttering.If it does stutter then a fresh install of windows is in order

Nick, with all due respect you seem to be looking for ways NOT to use FTPM. I answered your question above. There's no issues with FTPM.

Hi,
I'd check wall power first make sure no loose connection and work your way to psu which frankly is bare minimum for your gpu and that's if it's working properly

But best way to see what's going on at the wall is get a ez kill-a-watt

But if the issue does not happen in win-10 it's just another bug.

Hi,
10 with the tpm chip should also rule out it being an issue.

Just the memory fix was coming from both ms and amd so other issues isn't unusual sometimes even from fixes

An interesting way to determine if Win11 is faster on the same hardware would be to do a clean install of both Win10 and Win11 and then compare the performance of the two. I don't have exactly that -- but I do have something very close.

I did a clean install of Win10 two months ago on this desktop when I replaced the SSD with an m.2 SSD.

I have recently upgraded that to Win11, using another SSD of the same model.

From what I can tell, there is NO performance improvement of Win11 over Win10.

An yeah, I know that lots of folks are claiming Win11 is faster, but I have to wonder how much of that is due to newer hardware for Win11 or simply having a clean install of Win11 compared to a 5-year-old crud-infested Win10 install.

You really don't need tpm
It's sole use is saving bitlocker keys and if you don't use bitlocker/.. it is not needed
I'll add people have been using flash drivers for this a long time.

FTPM causes no issues - whether on Windows 10 or Windows 11. Only the "module" plugged into the board has been known to causes performance issues. Another reason why FTPM is the preferred method. And Microsoft definitely supports FTPM.

I'd be more concerned with the AMD/Windows 11 performance issue far more than enabling FTPM. And again, FTPM is not the physical module, which can cause a performance hit.

In short, you're worrying about something (FTPM) that isn't an issue

I saw somewhere that someone had the issue of bitlocker installing itself without user input causing him to be locked out of his own PC because he had no password.

Nick, hate to say this, but I still question that.

Anyway, as a BitLocker user of some years, I've yet to see BitLocker auto enable on any of my 3 Windows 11 installs - two Insider installs, and one RTM clean install.

Just because someone posted it doesn't mean we know the full backstory. It also helps to know how BitLocker works thus why I question things.

That said, let's address the obvious... the op is talking about Windows 10 and ONLY Windows 10. Second the post is 2 years old so their issue isn't even in Beta 11 territory here.

I'm also going to state my personal experience that I've installed Windows 10 quite a few times, with many builds, and its never ever never auto encrypted any drive in any system I've built or have. That includes two laptops.

Also, laptops usually ship with some form of drive encryption on by default. The post mentions they have a Dell "laptop". so it is "possible" the drive was already using BitLocker. Also curious is that they mention their "D" drive got locked!!! Why would an OS install encrypt a non essential drive??? It wouldn't!!!

Also...

Ofcourse, I know my Bitlocker drive ID, though Im not sure its any use when trying to recover the password. What am I supposed to do now?

If the OP knew or had their password, all they had to do was read the two options at the bottom of the screen and "Press Esc for more recovery options" and they would have been given the option to use their password instead of a 48 digit key.

I can not explain what happened with the OP's machine, I can only say there are too many anomalies in that post that leaves me doubting.
