OK.
I still suggest you reinstall the display driver.
Since it's so new, it would also seem worth checking both Windows update and HP Update [including any Bios updates]. It will have left the factory with whatever were their standard versions at that time.
The computer enters S0 Modern standby [aka S0 Low power idle] whenever the display blanks [which is generally set in your Power options].
- S0 Modern standby [aka S0 Low power idle] has different phases.
- S0 Modern standby [aka S0 Low power idle] is as energy-saving as S3 Sleep was on older computers.
- When I tested it out a while back, I could not identify any additional power saving during its later phases compared to its early phase.
- If you tell it to "Sleep", in say, WinKey, Power, Sleep] then it sends it straight into one of those later phases in which, for example, Task scheduler does not operate. It's possible to constrain it to stay in an early phase if you want to use Task scheduler.
If reinstalling driver(s) has no effect, I think that it would be worth setting up Event viewer to check what happens when you think it enters Sleep.
Importing Event Viewer, Custom View - my post #23 - ElevenForum
By the way, I don't know those keyboard shortcuts.
I put it to sleep with win-key, x, u, s
Best of luck,
