Unable to uninstall Edge

Hello,

I'm living in France, in UE, and I'm unable to uninstall MS Edge from my computer, despite last Windows updates were installed. Despite MS has to propose it since march in UE.

When I right-click on Edge in my Start Menu, it shows an uninstall entry.

When I click on it, it opens "programs and features" and lets me to repair Edge only, instead of uninstalling Edge.

When I click on Edge in Settings/Apps, uninstall is greyed out :

I'm a Firefox user, on W10 as well as W11

I used it to remove a beta Edge when I wanted to install Edge for Business.

Works when you can't uninstall the browser through Installed Apps or though Control Panel Programs and Features applet.

Microsoft has made it very difficult to uninstall Edge browser, but using an open-source tool you can still manage to uninstall Edge browser from your system.

Keep in mind that programs may still call for Internet Explorer in the process of installing and running to which end Windows has a file named iexplore.exe that will call Edge to open. Test that by putting iexplore.exe in a Run box. If that can't be completed the program may fail.

I like how wordpad/IE Microsoft says they are gone but uhh no they are just not in the programs folder. You can easily search

Revo Uninstaller Pro will remove Edge. I'm waiting to see what stops working! It removed 980 registry keys, 1,309 registry values, 1,856 folders and 9,737 files! That lot totalled 2.53 GB.

Wow! that's interesting, I use Edge occasionally, so it really doesn't bother me.

Microsoft Edge like Microsoft Internet Explorer, is baked into Windows.

It does make setting up web apps a breeze.

I find it interesting that when looking at "My Computer" for many of the forum regulars the browser used is Edge.

My Windows works fine after uninstalling Edge, so it's only half baked if at all!

Not, for instance, Links from within the Settings App..., they will open in Edge by default, no matter what..., unless, of course, you uninstalled Edge, then they won't open at all!!!

Can you give me an example of this? What "Links" in the Settings App specifically? I am curious. I know there was some issues about this from a while back but can't remember specifics anymore. I can look under Apps > Default apps and I do see some things that still default to Edge even though I have Firefox as default. But it does allow me to change them. Extensions like .avif, .svg and .xht. There are a few showing that show no default set like .shtml and .webp.

Microsoft also decided that links in Outlook (App) and Teams will also be forced to open in Edge. There are Edge specific links in search also (I have found)

So is this a fact? (and I would put money on a senate inquiry, eventually, if this is at all correct) That If I send you a link in an email to your Outlook email address, and you open the email in Outlook (app) as far as I know, Microsoft hard codes microsoft-edge:// to the link, forcing the link to be opened in Edge. I am not 100% positive but I can’t check right at this minute.
Am I right, I don’t know?
