To be fair, that's because you use edge. Your doing what microsoft wants so yeah your not going to get prompts.

I use chrome and man the constant nagging to use edge drove me insane. Windows not honoring your default browser etc. Luckily though I turned off all the ads with brinks tutorial and never got them again. I still am pissed that edge pulled and imported all my chrome info without asking me, including saved autofill info which really pissed me off.

Don't get me wrong, edge is a decent browser, (good even) but I have no real reason to use it. Chrome is really good for me and fits in the google ecosystem I am in. And despite people complaining that chrome sucks I have tried edge, firefox and other browsers and never saw any improvement that really made me want to leave chrome. Chrome works great for me.

For me the reason would be that it's always running processes in the background and consuming some memory, even if you didn't run it.

You can disable it from starting up with the computer. But yes I know what you mean. I have 32 GB ram though so I don't feel it at all.

Stands to reason. Those who use an MS account sign into Edge and it works seamlessly,
those who use a Google account sign into Chrome and it works seamlessly.

I sold my soul to Google years ago, so, signing into Edge with Google was a no go.
Only thing I use my MS account for is to get Insider Builds.

Microsoft would have been much better off to let users discover Edge themselves instead of using these force-feeding tactics. For me Edge (Chromium) has been better than Chrome and a really do like it.

MS has done the same kind of thing with OneDrive on Windows 11. I've used OneDrive for 15 years and love it, but I was dismayed when, during Windows setup, I saw how MS moved user data into OneDrive without permission and even worse didn't tell users what they did by disguising it as a Windows Backup. This has soured a lot of people from ever using OneDrive and, out of disgust, just removing it from their system.

Microsoft management needs to realize that these tactics just aren't right.

I love my Microsoft 365 subscription with Microsoft Office and a terabyte of cloud OneDrive.

You are 100% Correct, I do not or ever had any real problems with Windows 11, The problem I have is with Microsoft itself and it's questionable business practices. They were forced by The EU to allow users to remove EDGE, in my opinion this should have been done to ALL users. I never liked Chrome but some of the Variants of Chromium are OK. I have always been a Firefox user since day one when it was released. It is now my default browser and it will continue to be.
