Upgrading to 11 on iMac with Boot Camp running Windows 10: Possible?

Does anyone here have knowledge/insight on how I would proceed? Or where I might find help if not here?

From what I know, you can only use Windows 11 in Boot Camp on an M1 or M2 Mac.... The intel based Mac's can only go up to Windows 10 in Boot Camp.

All I can say is that the upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11 is mostly cosmetic, the requirements for both are virtually identical so the upgrade from 10 to 11 should be possible on an iMac running Bootcamp.

Of course there are no guarantees of this as Bootcamp is a virtual system rather than real hardware. I would strongly recommend that before proceeding you create a full backup of your present setup. The update should also handle any product/licence key in use

However, upgrading from an existing installation of Windows 10 would be the same as performing a manual upgrade via a Windows ISO or USB installer, but you will need to use the same workarounds as other Windows Users to bypass the lack of TPM 2.0, Secure Boot and possibly a non-compatible CPU, depending on the age of your Mac. The best start point would be to run one of the Windows 11 compatibility checkers on your Windows 10 installation such as WhyNotWin11 which will identify what is likely to block the upgrade process.

When you have a list of the obstacles you need to address then more detailed help could be provided, but if you can Boot your Windows 10 installation from a USB 'Stick' - which is not always straightforward with a 'newer' Mac - one option would be to create a USB Windows 11 installer, complete with necessary work arounds by using the Rufus utility.
