Upgrading to Windows 11 - is fTPM good enough? Windows Update saying PC not metting minimum requirements for Win 11

Flogger I am trying to read up on fTPM but from what I am starting to gather, it doesn't matter as it should accommodate it.
As for why Windows is throwing up a roadblock, maybe it hates fTPM. Who knows.

If it were me, I'd not concern myself and just use RUFUS created install media to install Windows.
But I do understand your frustrations.

Just want to be 100% sure everything will work. Though it does seem like TPM is now being seen, just not by Windows Update.

I have the Windows 11.iso. I assume I can just run that for an in place upgrade, or would I still need to do the RUFUS method?

Windows periodically runs an internal check for W11 compatibility. Yours is still showing the results from its last check. You can hasten a new check by deleting the previous results from the registry. Details of how to do that are here:

The OP in that thread got the W11 update in Windows Update about 10 hours after following those instructions.

So delete the entire GE24H2 and all of its sub keys, as well as GE25H2?

I do have the Windows 11.iso. Would that tell me immediately if my PC is compatible or not?

Yes, delete both those keys. Windows will recreate the key when it re-runs the checks.

Yes, you could do an in-place upgrade with the ISO. It would tell you if there was anything still incompatible - highly unlikely though, given your latest WhyNotWin11 results in post #14.

An in-place upgrade with you ISO would be quicker, as you have already downloaded it. Windows Update would download it again. The only advantage of waiting for Windows Update would be that it will record the feature update in its update history, an in-place upgrade won't.

Since you finally got WhyNotWin11 to come up all green, you could just do an In-Place Upgrade from Win 10 to Win 11.
You just use a Win 11 ISO.

Came back as compatible. Device Manager shows TPM 2.0. Going to run from the .iso shortly.

What would those be? Downloading the latest .iso currently (Win11_25H2_English_x64, I had 24H2 from June). Should I use the Assistant instead for an in place upgrade?

Both methods are equally valid but the Installation Assistant has slightly more graceful rollback triggers if something goes wrong mid-upgrade, and it also has a cleaner log structure with less cryptic, less nondescript error messages for post-failure analysis in the possible event of an upgrade failure (though not essential if you’re not contacting Microsoft Support). It also offers a smoother user experience for non-technical users. Even if you are a technical user and you're lazy like I am, when compared to the ISO method, in a few certain ways, it kind of feels like renting a free limo that takes you from 10 to 11 (or from 23H2 to 24H2 if that's what you're trying to achieve). Kind of.

The KB5054156 (Windows 11 version 25H2 x64 enablement package) update is this one. To move from 24H2 to 25H2, you can download this enablement package, install it by double-clicking on the downloaded .msu file, and reboot after. However, to be able to install this enablement package, first you need to have the KB5064081 (August 29, 2025 Cumulative Preview) update or the KB5065426 (September 9, 2025 Cumulative) update (or both) already installed on 24H2. (And yes, this enablement package is only a 166kB file...)
