USB SSD drive seen as HDD in 'Optimize Drive'

Hi All,

i having 'WD My Passport SSD' connected via USB to my machine. Despite it is SSD, 'Optimize Drive' sees it as HDD:



It was not the case on Windows 10.

Anyone has similar issues?
Do we know how to resolve the issue?

Don't have that issue here with my "external" Samsung T5 SSD drive.



With that, are you sure that WD My Passport is a full SSD drive?

Edit... I just connected my Samsung 840 Pro externally via SATA to USB cable and lo and behold it shows up in Optimize Drives as HDD.



Odd considering it's always shown as SSD when connected internally. All I can guess is it must be the cable. That said, my Samsung T5 is also connected externally via USB Type-C cable to the PC, yet it shows SSD, so...

At any rate I'm not losing any sleep over this because I think Windows internally will adjust accordingly.

That's pretty much my attitude :)

You can use attached batch script to optimize SSD drives, all you need is to type the drive letter for the SSD drive when prompted to do so.

You don't need a script for something Windows already does.

And mine says never run because that's the first time I ever used those drives since installing Windows 11.
