Hi, I've just upgraded from 23H2 to 24H2 using Rufus and the 24H2 ISO, but now get a message saying a vulnerable driver can't load (see screenshot), What should I do to remove this?

Windows Build/Version
version 24H2, build 26100.2161

It looks like that driver belongs to the program HWInfo which you find here (is freeware).
Maybe it's an old version.

The best thing you can do seems to me being uninstall HWInfo and install it again from the download on the indicated site.

Looks like an issue with Hardware Info 64. Unsure if updating to the latest version will help or not. But it appears you have it installed vs using the Portable version.
And to be clear the installer version also uses the .sys file while the portable version does not.

I'm a computer enthusiast so have quite a few systems that I run. More like an advanced hobby.
It's driver is on the vulnerable driver list and is being blocked. The only way to work around this is to disable the vulnerable driver list. But that disables it for all drivers on the list which is probably not something you want to do, at least permanently. It is a long list.

The setting for that is under security -> Device security -> core isolation _> core isolation details -> Microsoft Vulnerable Driver Blocklist

Update your HWINFO64. I use the driver in the latest versions without issue.

It's driver is on the vulnerable driver list and is being blocked.
In that case the trick that @BamaInArk describes should function too.
Uninstall the installed version of Hardware Info and use the portable version.
That's how I use that program as well.

If you uninstall it using Revo Uninstaller, you should be able to remove the driver as well.

That's how I use that program as well.

I use the latest installed version HWINFO64 v8.14 and have no issue and am up to the latest 24H2. Note they recently updated the list.

Also it may not be HWINFO64 itself. They license out the driver for other apps to use so it could be one of those (e.g. MSI Afterburner)

Thanks everyone. I've checked and I don't have this programme installed. It seems to be part of Iobit Driverbooster (see screenshot)

A little curious about this. The file in question is a .SYS file. None of the ones in the graphic you posted are .SYS files. .DLL files? Seems this particular file has been causing issues way back.

Hi, I've just upgraded from 23H2 to 24H2 using Rufus and the 24H2 ISO, but now get a message saying a vulnerable driver can't load (see screenshot), What should I do to remove this?

BTW that is a very old HWINFO64 (64A) driver that is being used. The latest is 202

EDIT: Here are the ones on the vulnerable driver list:

Thanks - I had belatedly noticed that. I uninstalled all Iobit programmes, most being in both C and D drives, then installed all, including Driver Booster, and got this error in the screenshot. I then installed HWinFo64, then uninstalled it and don't seem to have any problems now.
