sold and shipped by Amazon (ignore the delivery dates as that is .com and I am in Canada). Personally I would get it from Amazon (as in sold and shipped by) over anywhere else for the easy return policy if nothing else.

And whoever suggested the B550 based board, great idea except he would need a new CPU, as his 3200G isn't officially supported and his very hit or miss as to whether it will work on a B550 board.

Delivery dates are the same for the US. They don't have it in stock... hence the horrible delivery dates.
I just went through this with Amazon last year.
They said they 14 m therboards in stock, I ordered, and after 10 working days of the 5-8 days shipping I called them.
They THEN said they were out of stock. In other words, they "sold" more than they had.

Ever since the scalping started, Amazon has gotten really fishy with "in demand" computer parts.


Then I ordered the same motherboard from Newegg, and I had it 3 days before they said I would.


Once a month I go food shopping at Walmart... everything else, I order online.
I even do about 35% of my food shopping online. :-)

And yet if I wanted the same board I could get it Monday if I ordered it today (just remember the prices are $CDN),

or even save $20 and get tomorrow on that used one (which if it is like anything else I have ordered from Amazon listed like that it was brand new with slight damage to the box, if that even).

That looks like a reasonably good MB, and I see that it's directly from Amazon. (Not shipping from China.)

I avoid microATX motherboards myself, but IMHO your local guy is being a bit of a twit.

Small boards like that may have fewer features than a full sized ATX board, but if you don't need those features, the mATX board is typically less expensive. Also, mATX boards tend to be about 9.6" (24.4 cm) square. An ATX board typically 12" x 9.6" (30.5 X 24.4 cm). I doubt that extra 2.4" (6.0 cm) of width makes the MB "too small to work on". The main loss I'd expect with a large graphics card is that it might block the PCI-E x1 slot that is nearest the PCI-E X16 slot. (You'd probably want to connect the SATA cables before installing the card.)

I'm vendor agnostic. I buy from NewEgg, Amazon,, and BHPhotovideo. As another poster pointed out, you have to be careful with Amazon and Newegg that you aren't getting something from one of their associate vendors.

I really think he didn't like the fact there wasn't as many features to debug the PC as he wanted. Also when he removed the graphic card he bitched about people using mAtx motherboards. So that told me a lot. He's a nice guy but picky.. hey.. he only charged me 20 so that's not bad.

I know my previous guy wouldn't care about the motherboard size.. but his business isn't open at the time.

Oh and I can get a Tuf from B&H plus free shipping. I might go that waay

Only problem ive have with mAtx mobos is when people put them in full size cases, it just looks stupid xD. Other than that, if you dont need the features etc or have a mAtx case then i dont see why youd get a bigger/better one if it isnt gonna be useful to you.
I do get the space and gpu thing though

BH is a good seller, IMHO. One peculiarity: they observe the Jewish sabbath, and don't complete checkouts from Friday evening through after sundown on Saturday. During the autumn high holy days, they can be down for many days. If that becomes an issue for you, Amazon also offers free shipping.

It's a toss up.. I can use Amazon and get a nice motherboard for about 68 and then free prime shipping. That's hard to pass up.

I also can get a nice third party cooler that's easy to install. I hate the one I have to screw on .. the one with the springs. YUCK!
