Well @James,

Please enlighten us with you conclusions - I bet they bear no reality with "real world use". This is estimated market share for Jan 2022 to Jan 2023

View attachment 51972

It shows same as always - Chrome is still the major leader by a long way, Edge is ahead of the rest but still a long way to go.

If you go back a while, Firefox had a bigger share and IE was used. However Firefox is in decline and Edge will slowly increase as new users buy pcs and find built in Edge pretty much does all they need. Firefox will never get back to its peak.

Chrome will always be the leader - in part historical but also it syncs well with android devices (twice as many as Apples). The only reason I have it installed is now and then a site that was around in IE days refuses to play well with Edge (even in so called compatibility mode), and Chrome is usually fine.

The problem with polls like this on this type of forum, is you are asking a small but well informed section of the community who often try other things because they like to do so.

In the real world (ignoring Safari/Opera as not really Windows) the browser wars of a decade ago have long gone.
Yep. Edge uses less ram than chrome and supports chrome extensions. Thanks for the reply. I was doing this poll for this forum not for general

One of his replies was "Hvis I ikke kan acceptere jeg skriver på mit modersmål, så er I ikke værdige til, at have mig, som bruger."

which basically means

"If you cannot accept that I write in my own language, then you are not worthy of having me as a user"

Fairly obvious why OP got banned LOL.
Literally translated ”I write in my mother tounge“ Even ruder! Yep.

I switched to Chrome years ago and found that their sync'd bookmark feature worked great for me, and I've just stuck with them ever since. I had a nice plugin that would sync my chrome stuff and safari stuff when I was using safari on my Mac, so that worked out well for me.

So, I'd say 98% chrome, 2% firefox and edge.

Multiple different sandboxed instances of Firefox Portable running concurrently in parallel. "Different" = each instance runs in a different sandbox (with different sandbox settings and content) under Sandboxie-Plus. The Forced Folders feature of Sandboxie-Plus lets me specify that any programs located in a folder (that I can specify) should be forced to always run sandboxed so, to get this to work with Firefox Portable, all I had to do was just specify my main folder of Firefox Portable. So, because I can wipe a sandbox totally clean with just a single mouseclick, each time when I want to make a more permanent change (e.g., in the settings and/or by updating Firefox Portable, manually, as it doesn't nag me about updates) I just temporarily rename this folder. So, next, when I run the program it doesn't run sandboxed until after I close it, rename the folder back again, and rerun. Also, I made it my default browser:
Another "trick" is that Firefox Portable lets me put a file named FirefoxPortable.ini in its main folder. Putting the line AllowMultipleInstances=true in this file enables multiple instances in Firefox Portable, and, this still works regardless of whether I choose to run it sandboxed.

By making multiple copies of my main folder of Firefox Portable, doing things like make all different changes to each copy (or different to some of them) before I run them sandboxed, run each different copy in a different sandbox and/or run the same copy in multiple different sandboxes concurrently in parallel I can do a lot more than what's already possible to achieve with the Firefox Multi-Account Containers addon and/or with Firefox profiles. If anything, it adds an extra layer of browser protection. But I also wrote my own scripts (and a few small programs) to automate various tasks that depend on all this, not only for browsing the web. The sandbox location of some of my sandboxes points to a ramdisk. This ramdisk uses compact mode (a feature called Dynamic Memory Management) which prevents the ramdisk's available free space from unnecessarily consuming so much RAM. Finally, due to the fact that Sandboxie-Plus doesn't require a program to be stored in the sandbox before this program can run sandboxed (as it only needs to store content in the sandbox to isolate changes that result from what's running sandboxed) it doesn't necessariy have to become a hog. (Even, if multiple sandboxes are actively used at once, i.e., "running concurrently in parallel".)

If MS keeps adding bloat to Edge, it will start losing even the share it now has.

And Google may be faced with an uncertain business model in the future due to the growth of ChatGPT, which could affect development of Chrome. Would it lead to its downfall? Only time will tell.

Literally translated ”I write in my mother tounge“ Even ruder! Yep.

Literal translations from Danish do not always work that well.

farmor mean grandmother but more literally it means fathermother (i.e. grandmother on father's side)
mormor also means grandmother but more literally it means mothermother (grandmother on mother's side)

I rather like how Danish can differentiate easily - seems logical, but then it throws a giant cuve ball at you i.e.

oldemor literally means "old mother" but means "great grandmother"
store oldemore literally means "large old mother£ (sounds insulting lol) but means "great great grandmother".

As for numbering - they have the most insane numbering system in Europe. It took me ages before I got to grip with it.

... Edge uses less ram than chrome...
It's rarely like that for me!
3 identical browsers, (all at the same kernel, as of this writing), 3 identical windows, 3 identical web pages.
One has, perhaps, more aggressive child processes going on than the others, but...
Chrome's still my go-to...

You need maths to learn the numbers in Danish??! Some of those things do seem logical for example farmor, it seems "static" if that makes sense. Anyway, this thread is now turning in to Danish lessons! I find it a very amusing yet great language, along with the other scandinavian languages

This thread shows that the majority of users here (that is NOT the internet, that would show different results) use firefox. I use firefox mainly but have edge to hand set up incase of an issue in firefox or web development testing. I don't have any instance of chrome though (I have used it in previous installs)
