What's For Dinner?


Tonight we're having fried chicken from our local big chain grocery store. locally we only have Acme and KFC to choose from. We're not happy with our local KFC chicken. Stove top stuffing and a salad. Tomorrow I'm thinking about pasta and meat sauce. I mix ground beef and sausage in store bought spaghetti sauce. I also add my own seasoning to it to make it unique. I'm debating on what type of pasta I'm going to use. I'm also going to buy a loaf of fresh made bread from Acme. Probably Italian but I may change my mind and go with another type of fresh made bread.

That's generally how we make pasta here. Not much work involved. Our nearest big chain grocery (Meijer) frequently has fried chicken sold hot or cold. We like it much better than KFC.

I'm not sure what's on the menu tonight. Last night it was broccoli-beef stir fry.

I've been slow cooking the spaghetti and meat sauce since about 1:00. I'll start boiling the water for the the linguine around 5:00.

Cook pasta a little under Al Dente. Reserve like 2 cups of the pasta water. Add one to two cups for each pound of pasta to the sauce in a pan to simmer. Add the pasta and some fat, either butter or some EVOO. Toss to coat and simmer until pasta is cooked ;)

Frozen is never as good as fresh cooked. I'll ask my son if he knows of any good Korean restaurants. If not, I'll do a web search to see what's in my area. We do have a local family that sell barbecued food but I think they are Philippines.

I found out that there's a KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot in Delaware. It's about 20 minutes away from me.

I haven't been to a Trader Joe's in years. The one I use to go to was in Delaware. I'm not sure if it's still there.
