Who uses Windows.old any more to revert to prev release

Windows.old can be created automatically or manually.
During a featured upgrade there is typically a ten day default rollback period before the automatic Windows.old is deleted.
Manually, you can often create a Windows.old to backup important files when there is a failure to boot.
These are both Windows.old but would be managed differently.
For the automatic windows.old I'll let windows delete it unless it was modified to a 60 day goback / rollback.

Since most "Typical" users don't install these types of releases, and those that do install are usually far more computer literate than the average one would expect them to backup their systems before starting the process so a windows.old is redundant. I can understand a sort of temporary log file created during the update process so the system can itself revert if it errors out during the update but otherwise it's a bit useless -- rather like on a Philips mains electric hair dryer which has has a warning on it "This product must not be used in the shower".
It's easy enough to get rid of though now you have to do it in the Windows Tools section on Disk / Storage management than formerly via Disk properties on context menu. (right mouse click against the disk ->properties. That's been changed now.
Cheers

Nope I would just use a image, but so far, have never had to use it to go back to W10 on the X299.
