They are willing to help, but usually it becomes billable above and beyond the support contract. Or if I can prove that it was not any modifications my company did that caused it....

Agreed. Dell tried to pull a fast one saying warranty was void for installing a Samsung 2280 Pro M.2 instead of factory 2230. They said the warranty would be void which is false because they are both the same. They never answered but put out a bios update to fix the problem.

Not too sure why the old version of the menu we had in earlier versions cannot be returned. If third party apps can do it. But MS is tone deaf, the feedback hub is useless and they are on their own path no matter what users really want.

If you watched the video earlier in the thread, MS says they ARE listening to users. I like W11 menus, and I've never felt the need to resort to 3rd party apps to make W11 look and feel like W10.

And I know what I'm doing and do use a 3rd party Windows mod program. I see it as a win win for MS and the users. MS can concentrate on the OS and the 3rd party programmers can work on making the mods that we want.

That's a great question, but I don't have the answer.

Microsoft just don't seem to be able to make the start menu configurable enough to be able to suit most users. Hence, the popularity of third party start menus.

The first time that I can recall starting to see complaints about a Windows operating system start menu was in Windows 7. While Windows 7 was a very good operating system, I can still remember people complaining about the awkward start menu.
