So, i got TPM 2.0 , got Secure Boot, got pretty much specs to be able to play 4k@60Hz smoothly (RTX 2080Ti) but i got "only" i7-6700 and cause of that i can`t upgrade without going around official specs...I got only one question: What engineer or dev got that stupid idea that we need intel 7gen or higher to install win11?

It is not as superficially stupid as one might initially think. Instead it is to do with needing a new Driver Model to achieve better security and reliability of the Operating System. The new Driver Model only works on the newer CPUs.

Reliability. Devices upgraded to Windows 11 will be in a supported and reliable state. By choosing CPUs that have adopted the new Windows Driver model and are supported by our OEM and silicon partners who are achieving a 99.8% crash free experience.

Using the principles above, we are confident that devices running on Intel 8th generation processors and AMD Zen 2 as well as Qualcomm 7 and 8 Series will meet our principles around security and reliability and minimum system requirements for Windows 11.

Yet still my 3 year-old custom PC is crap from point of view of Microsoft...About security and crash-free experience you mentioned. Over the years i`ve learned that all these crashes and issues reported by people doesn`t seems to hit my PC at all. I got feeling that those issues only hit pre-built crap machines like Dell, HP and other crap. I`ve assmebled many machines for my clients and no one called me with any issues whatsoever. Security is also tricky, cause Microsoft think that if they force some security measures to PC`s by default they would save the world from any danger...well i`ve never heard bigger bullshit that this theory ...cause always at the end there will be human factor that might decide about putting your own PC at danger, and frankly i don`t wanna Microsoft to decide for me in that matter (well they still got very big experience with messing people OS`s by doing bad patches). So i doubt that they know what`s better for all of us ....

You can still install Windows 11 though :) . There are work arounds. I have it running on an atom netbook with 2gb ram and a core i7 5th generation processor with tpm 1.2 only.

Yep, same problem here with my three year old Ryzen build. W11 = doesn't qualify.
The cutoff point for the new requirements is steep, no doubt about that.
Stick with w10, or as @Hazel123 suggests, use a workaround to activate the machine to w11.
There are numerous pages on this Forum telling you how you may activate w11 on an unqualified machine.

The problem with that is, is it's not about security - but crashes... there has been no independent studies to determine the crash-free experience... it's all a marketing gimmick. Drivers are built by OEM's not MS.

No-one in the known universe has...this is a Win 10 kernel .. seriously can't see how new drivers are going to break it!
Well.. I wouldn't make that claim since we haven't checked anyone but the group here.
But having said that it's hard to believe that an unsupported device will break or have issues using 11

Personally I believe crashing data is clouded because of intentional overclocking
Hell half the fun of max oc'ing is crashing otherwise it's just boring running a power saver plan lol :lmao:

Buddy.. (uhmmm .. Bunny in your case....LOL), I check many forums to get a holistic viewpoint about stuff... but yah, Drivers, AV's etc .. they are all kernel related.

I checked the statement online. Microsoft were quoted as saying
Now with these new chips, and the driver model, we're now seeing a 99.8% crash free experience in the preview."
So the small print reads just the preview build, which was not in the original post I made.

I've got a Windows Vista 64 bit old driver on my netbook and nothing has crashed :) All works great. I've even got colours sorted now (strange way of getting colours in the settings app by switching to custom, dark for apps then turning on task bar colour then changing the colour from dark to something else).

I have a TMP header on my Z170, but it has a 6700K too, so after I get the module I`ll give W11 a shot, but in no rush.
