Winareo Tweaker fails to launch

That wouldn't work for me and others with the latest version 1.64.2 though. I did get it working using Windows 8 compatibility in the exe properties for my intel machines though. Sadly it's set by default on my ARM64 machine and still won't load it on that machine.

Yeah, I had to disable realtime protection in order for it to work, even though I already had all the drives excluded.

I also could not get winero tweaker to open. So I used ovalhed's solution (above) of setting the executable into windows 8 mode as administrator and now it opens fine. Ovalhead's message was on page 2 of this thread.

Yes, I was the first to discover and post about the Win 8 compatibility work around for my Intel machines but that wasn't an option on my ARM64 machine so the defender fix solved that and allows me to disable win 8 compatibility now with app working as originally intended again.

This issue with Winaero is still not fixed. I tried it again last night and 1.64.2 was flagged again as a Trojan. I can't even open it without getting a flag.

I too used WinaeroTweaker for a few mods. For a couple of days tried some of these solutions and others.
Some research is indicating WinaeroTweaker will not work again. There are mentions that some f the embedded windows hooks is needs are removed.

I've not had any problems since setting the start menu shortcut to run in Windows 8 compatibility mode.

That's a usable workaround although it won't work on ARM64 machines.

Yes as mentioned: Strangely enough, you only get one chance to do it right, without having to run Les' batch job again.
I really do not get the MS logic there. It has to be a bug.
