Hello, I am trying to upgrade from 23H2 to 24H2 via update assistant because it has not appeared in my update check yet. But I get error code 0x8007007f half way trough the progress.. Is clean install the only solution here?

Hi, you could wait for the update to appear in Windows Update or you could do an in-pace upgrade and keep all your files and apps at the same time.

speaking of doing an "in-place" upgrade, the Win11 24H2 Media Creation tool recently downloads & creates updated install media with the Oct 2024 KB5044284 (build 26100.2033) update integrated

Well, it's finally time for me to upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11. Downloaded upgrade assistant and got this exact same error on THREE different machines! Luckily, the following fix (from Oct 2021) worked for me:
1. CMD Admin
2. DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
3. sfc /scannow
4. Reboot
5. Run Win 11 Install Assistant
