I use XYplorer and it works great but I don't use it to replace Win Exp, I use it as extra. I have had it since Win 7.

I have no real problems running most things 11 as vanilla. I've changed 2 things; the damned 'show more options' BS that I just couldn't deal with and the color of file folders in file explorer from gold to blue because I had a hard time seeing them sometimes, especially in regedit. At first I was tweaking left and right and trying multiple 3rd party apps. But I saw some of the issues the apps caused, removed them, and adjusted. I don't pay most changes any attention anymore.

Explorer++ is in regular development.
I'm running Explorer++ v1.4.0.2225 Development Build released on September 13.
It's also a very good file manager for including with boot media.

Did a short test of the newest version (1.4.0.2225) of Explorer++
- For me essential functioning of CTRL Z (undo changes to filenames or deletes of files) is not working yet.
- Translation to NL is very poor, the translation of 1.3.5 is much better.
As the translation file is a .DLL, I can't change it myself.
Still it is a nice program, I will keep it as reserve, may be I need it when the UI of the Win11 File Explorer gets a full change in 23H2.

Thanks for the offer but I much prefer Windows Explorer with tabs rather than the old File Explorer. If ever I would want to use File Explorer again (doubtful) it's still available through Control Panel. I won't be trying it.

I would give it a shot, but the option in ExplorerPatcher is what makes it completely obsolete IMO, and IME. I recently wrote a similar program to run the Snipping Tool (not that I use it a lot, but I thought it was kinda fun...) such a way that its window will be maximized when you open the newly created screenshot with it after that. See: Get Snipping Tool to Open Maximized?
The automation event handler adds the benefit of your main code not having to wait half a second before it can proceed with manipulating the window object. In my case it still had to wait a whole second, though, as that's about how long it normally takes for the picture to appear in the Snipping Tool window. I found that if this window gets forced to maximize too soon, this window gets snapped to the top left corner of the screen instead of gets maximized. Like, Snip 'n Snap...

@Fabler2 and @hdmi Perhaps I gave the wrong impression. It's just a 67KB portable executable that launches Explorer via the Control Panel. I'm not asking for a long term commitment, but just a quick test to confirm it works on computers other than my own. It's literally a quick download and double-click. Should take less than a minute.

StartAllBack may be all you need. I use that and QTTabBar for a host of enhancements plus Dexpot to Roll Up windows.
