Windows 11 - HP 255 G7 Laptop

I read an article via Google the other day on my phone. It was telling you which computers from different manufacturers were compatible with Windows 11. My Laptop - HP 255 G7 was on the list as one HP's compatible PC's for the new upcoming OS. However, when I run the PC Health Check, it says it isn't compatible and the processor in it will not run Windows 11.

I am thinking HP knows it will run it, yet it isn't confirmed from Microsoft because they don't tell you what compatible computers will work and because the updated and revised PC Health Check app on my computer has the original application installed. So if the manufacturer says it will run it, then I think it will when 11 is released.

It appears that none of the AMD processors for the HP 255 G7 that HP list here...

This specification details the AMD processors that can be used with Windows 11 customer systems that include Windows products, including custom images.

Check your processor against that MS list to see if it is supported. The supported processors may change to include some older processors by release. I'm hoping so as none on my machines have an Intel processor newer than 7th gen - and currently MS only support 8th gen or newer for Windows 11.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.

    My SYSTEM THREE is a Dell Latitude 5410, i7-10610U, 32GB RAM, 512GB ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro (and all my Hyper-V VMs).

    My SYSTEM FOUR is a 2-in-1 convertible Lenovo Yoga 11e 20DA, Celeron N2930, 8GB RAM, 256GB ssd. Unsupported device: currently running Win10 Pro, plus Win11 Pro RTM and Insider Beta as native boot vhdx.

    My SYSTEM FIVE is a Dell Latitude 3190 2-in-1, Pentium Silver N5030, 4GB RAM, 512GB NVMe ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro, plus the Insider Beta, Dev, and Canary builds as a native boot .vhdx.
