Solved Windows 11 IoT LTSC Enterprise (25H2) - Update rollback :(

After in-place upgrade from W11 25H2 26200.7462 to 24H2 2100 with January Cumulative i have:

0x8007042B -- 0x200D SAFE_OS MIGRATE_DATA

I will try in-place upgrade with the same iso but with injected EB into install.wim

When you’re done with all this, I encourage you to learn how to use a System Image software like Hasleo or Macrium and create an image when your PC is in order.

Here is a simple tutorial for the first time use of Hasleo. I don’t use Macrium.

I don't see the point of gathering a BSOD trace. It's an unsupported Windows config (LTSC + EP).

The OP even confirms this:

The script title can not be changed.

This indicates the upgrade failed to finish, because of:
- incompatible drivers (probably not)
- incompatible apps (probably not)
- mismatched Windows files (probably since the major number [26200] on some installed components don't match branch 26100)

I would backup your system, and consider re-installing the system from scratch with a normal, non-EP LTSC image. A NTLite "Host refresh" may not work, since it's basically an in-place upgrade called by NTLite.

It can be related to incompatible drivers beacuse I modded my ssd drivers to new nvme 3 weeks ago: This Hidden Windows 11 NVMe Driver May Give SSD Performance A Huge Speed Boost / Windows 11 hack: Higher SSD speeds with new Microsoft NVMe driver

And maybe this is the main reason why I had "Something went wrong" during windows update or optional feature add/remove.

Now I'm connecting the dots and everything becomes clear.

I don't think so. The NVME hack enables hidden features in the current storage driver that's been pushed to Windows. Those files would still be 26100 components, and not 26200. Enabling the features is done by the registry or ViveTool (which is also registry-based).

Disabling the reg keys won't fix this DISM problem.

hmmmm maybe winre.wim it's from 26100 and I'll need from 26200

LTSC is 26100, and should not have any 26200 components.

By design, the branches are distinct so LTSC doesn't inherit any unintended changes to Windows features. By overlaying 26200 files, you're creating an unsupported Frankenstein build. You can go around in circles, until you do a clean install with a normal LTSC image.

Reinstalling the OS from scratch isn’t a problem.

I’ve backed everything up with Acronis (too bad I didn’t create a full system image).

Still, I’m determined to fix this OS, because I don’t want to believe Microsoft is that incompetent—and that a single enablement package can break the entire LTSC branch.

The system is running fine despite the lack of updates and the inability to manage some optional features like Sandbox.

There have to be other options besides a clean install / reinstall.

A Microsoft engineer said it’s a CBS package inconsistency, because an enablement package, applied via an override, put me on a different update-path branch.

The whole point of the IOT versions is to provide essentially a 100% stable version with many "User features" locked out so adding 3rd party external non approved (by Ms) software is likely to break the system. If you use IOT software then hideous though it sounds its best to stick to pure Windows commands and only install "approvced apps" via the store.
If yiu want to tinler with Enterprise versions of Windows just install the "bog standard" Enterprise edition.

Cheers
