I have only one laptop running on Windows 11 Pro but hardly use it.

My workhorse laptop is my Dell Inspiron (14 inch) with Windows 10 Pro 21H2 installed offline. De-bloated and with Edge, Bing, OneDrive and Copilot permanently disabled. I use it day and night, for work and play. No pesky updates, no forced installations of unwanted software and I am literally allowed to do my own thing. It is sleeker, faster and has a much smaller footprint than the original. And it is so light I can just place it on my thighs and use it on my bed.

And I like Linux too. I have three of them running on my VMware Workstation.

Microsoft should get a black eye for some of its decisions and for its constant shove of AI without letting it be an organic evolution of the operating system. Even so, Redmond probably does not deserve some of the videos I’ve seen lately — ironically, some clearly made with AI!
For example, a newly minted YouTube channel, Tech Report, contains clues that its videos or channels are AI-generated. Look for a very recent “joined” date; Tech Report’s is December 11, 2025. On January 3, seven 15-minute videos had been uploaded within in the previous seven days. It is extremely difficult for a new channel to produce at that rate. If you take a look at the channel, you’ll note that there are 11 videos with a thumbnail picture of Gates, whose name is mentioned in 10 of the titles. But Gates has not been formally involved in Microsoft management since 2020, and his personal ownership stake in the company is insignificant. He has no reason to “panic” or “lose it” or be “shocked.”

What is possibly worse is that people keep sharing it, as apposed to letting it die quietly.

i beleive microsoft needs to freeze Windows 11 and any features and deploy a Windows 11 XP2
sorting out over the year all the known quarks of Windows 11 before releasing 26H2.

There are always some annoying bugs for sure, and some not so great choices made such as incremental feature release chaos, but I can deal with it.

I have customized Windows since XP, but I am fed up with all this AI nonsense. Enough is enough.
My nLited XP used 80MB RAM, I was pretty proud of it, but 11 keeps getting harder and harder.
If 12 is going to be anything like this, I am switching to Linux for good. Windows is a lost cause.

By default Windows 11 uses 150 processes, I cut it to half and I limited all junk by DNS, still ...

People like the choice, people like me are willing to pay for the choice.
MS asks money to pay for copilot, I am willing to pay for AI free experience.

There is currently a huge market gap, no one wants to get paid for no AI. :shush:
I would pay up to $50 per year for no AI whatsoever, but no one wants my money.
